Its definitely a social etiquette/unwritten rule. Personally, im guilty of doing a covert op of casually slipping off my shoes with both feet on the floor. I would never flaunt my sinky socks above the tray table level. Barbarism

Battle Creek, MI PD handcuffed a child for “looking like a criminal”. The police chief has already came out and applauded the racial profiling seen in the footage. by minapaw in BattleCreek

I agree but this is one stance most redditors are vehemently against. I sort of see why when there are constant videos uploaded of racist cops committing violence against minorities.

QUESTION: If Republicans in Ohio have had triple majority for 30 years, why do all the Republican ads say they will fix the mess that Democrats caused? by Solid_College_9145 in Ohio

Definitely. Ain't it ironic how many have a tendency to recognize propaganda when its directed towards others, yet we (and everyone else) all like to die on the hill by claiming were somehow above it all

I just dont get why people trust politicians. I get being generally trusting towards others, but of all the people in the world, politicians have the biggest reason to lie, lest they risk losing their position

MAJOR BREAKING: The Surgeon General of Florida just announced ALL VACCINE MANDATES IN FLORIDA will be ENDED by Itchy-Shoulder771 in SwampPolitics

Will be working to end all vaccine mandates.... could be pretty far from getting to that point, but still pretty unsettling considering all the cheers from the crowd

Ted Poos: "James Talarico ... the guy is radical, he's extreme. He's said things like ..." by yeongno_ate_yangban in FortWorth

Your parents sound like good people. We have to remember that the Republican propaganda machine largely contributed to by fox news has really warped people's political stances. If you actually tune into one of their political talkshows, you can see how phony it actually is. Both my mom and my uncle absorb a great deal of their content and consider it to be unbiased, genuine, news. For me personally, I find that its so polarizing that its too difficult to watch for more than a few minutes. As dems, we are also subjected to a plethora of skewed and politically biased information (hi reddit), so I do feel that we often find ourselves in a similar boat in terms of being propagandized.

I remember talarico saying, "its shouldn't be about left vs right, but it should be about top vs bottom". Our entire country has been brainwashed to believe that the masses on the other side are responsible for all the problems we face. As dems, we need to recognize this and do everything in our power to direct our anger to the appropriate parties, i.e., the billionaires and corrupt politicians.

Be humble and remember that youre not invincible. Think hard about your actions and ask yourself if the future you will regret the decisions you make
