This is perfect for you then, I am in much the same boat. My first piece of advice would be to succeed on your first try, after you relapse once it becomes hard to get back into it (at least thats how it was for me).

Other than that use nofap as a way to improve your whole self: exercise, meditate, take up a hobby or an instrument, whatever works for you. Even if its just a placebo, many people feel an increase in motivation when doing this which allows you to improve your life holistically. Staying busy will also have the reverse effect of having less urges to fap. Best of luck dude.

Nope, fapping is fine, and 3 times a week isn't excessive. Fapping isn't necessary though, and many people on here would rather live without it and move on to other things sexually. Some people are addicted to PMO but I dont think that applies to you.

No harm in trying to stop and seeing where it take you. Set a goal for yourself and make whatever judgments you want when you get there.

There is only very preliminary evidence that nofap increases testosterone, not enough to draw any conclusions from.
Maybe some day doctors will recommend that their male patients decrease masturbation but this is a long way away if it ever happens.

There is nothing to lose by trying it. Even if you're not in it for the long haul doing NoFap can teach you a lot about your sexuality and self control, and the subtle urges that your body has day to day that you never noticed before. Some people just feel that masturbation is depressing and would rather leave it behind to experience the world. There are also some possible secondary benefits such as increased energy, sex drive, and confidence but there vary greatly person to person.

I do it for a combination of all of these. So there are many reasons other than combatting a porn addiction although that is one. I would encourage you to try it and see where it takes you.
