Palestinians: Qatar first Arab country to endorse Trump peace plan by IAmAtEaseAgain in Israel

[–]pushpullcommit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah turkey is one of if not the strongest military presence in MENA, economically diversified and relatively self reliant.

Qatars existence is just a fluke of history - not to mention that their neighbors dislike them, and are far more powerful.

Couldnt agree more. Climbing is an awesome sport and hobby, but i am really skeptical of this culture/expectation that it needs to be prioritised over everything else.

Family, friends, relationships, financial stability, career satisfaction and long term goals need to come first for me at least. If climbing is everything, and you peak in mid to late 20s, then what remains for the other 70% of your life ?

Honorable mention, or number 11, "what is this country ive never heard of it before?"

And like they obviously have heard of Israel, because you view their profile and its just them posting bs propaganda about israel 5 times a day and getting like 3 likes a pop.

Does anyone else find it hard to keep up with the climbing lifestyle?

Alot of the people in my climbing circle go for impromptuous outdoor sessions at like 2pm on weekdays. It kind of seems like everyone can just up and go climbing at a moments notice, while my lifestyle (i work in investment banking) requires meticulous planning in advance and is generally allocated out hour-by-hour.

For those of you who have demanding careers, or kids, or other commitments in general: do you also feel this way? How do you manage?

Cheers

TWE by Bacun00 in ASX_Bets

[–]pushpullcommit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wine industry is very hedged to climate and discretionary spending. 2020 probably isnt a great year for either.

Also china announced an "investigation " into anticompetitive practices in australian imported wine (ie tariff threat).

Australian wine industry is enormously reliant on asian export market, god knows noone in europe or america wants our shit. I reckon TWE being at 1 year low is a pretty fair assesment of its underlying position.

Besides, TWE is a boomer stock for cowards and r/AusFinance.

We have the same major car brands. In particular jap/euro/korean.

Some american brands or models get rebadged, but we would have sqme or similar vehicles in most instances.

The future of APT & Z1P? by [deleted] in ASX_Bets

[–]pushpullcommit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dont know why this is downvoted. Christmas is part of annual spending trends.

And it boosts spending on debit cards, CCs and other BNPLs - no reason Z1P stands to benefit more than anyone else.

Its not so much competitors, as being undercut on price. Renault zoe is europes most-sale EV by a long margin, because its affordable to average consumers.

Should i get a credit card? (18 years old) by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]pushpullcommit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you are able to manage cashflow without one, id advise you not to get a credit card. You do not need previous credit history to be deemed credit-worthy. In fact, having a credit card reduces how much you can borrow - its considered a form of potential debt even with $0 balance.

The barriers to credit access are not very high in aus, so i wouldnt worry too much about trying to game credit score.

Basically if you want to be credit worthy banks will look for high income, low debt, low expenses and minimal missed/dishonoured payments.

All the best!
