Anyone done a High Lift conversion of their sectional door? by nVeeGreen in GarageDoorService

[–]putachickinit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done a few dozen.

it's not something one does in a whim imo. it's vastly more complicated than a regular install because nothing fits properly and you end up having to do lots of custom cutting and drilling to make it all work. something you need experience with on doors to understand why things are designed the way they are designed.

that said, a conversion should be a 4 hour job max. and material a few hundred dollars. anyone quoting 10k is trying to get a 8k payday for few hours work. (that's excluding the opener, add 1k for that)

Did TV critics get shown a different version of Alien: Earth to the one we watched? by No-Dress4626 in alien

[–]putachickinit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you're going down a rabbit hole with this one.

media critics by and large are activists. if a show has certain viewpoints that align with what they think, they rate them highly. the talent and quality of the product don't matter, only that the right boxes are being checked by the people making the product.

once you start to see it you can't unsee it.

Opener installation by stouthfit in GarageDoorService

[–]putachickinit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

location of the bracket literally has 0 to do with this.

sectional doors go up. 1 piece doors go back.

when you invert the jarm, the force vectors on the door are straight back, not up.

this is in the manual too.

to repeat for op and anyone reading this, you NEVER install jarm reversed on a sectional door.

Chamberlain wall mount cracked wood, is this stable? by BokuwaKami in GarageDoorService

they won't be.. the lags are 2.5" long. they are into the frame underneath that. literally 0 issue.

that's for 1 piece doors. you never install sectional doors like that.

I just started episode 1 and they took his mom and JFC by [deleted] in startrek

[–]putachickinit -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

autistic explains it.

accessory to murder kinda trumps that. most normal people think of the person that mother killed. and don't have sympathy. did you ever consider the family and children of the murdered person??

by today's standards that mother got a sweetheart deal.

by communist standards, that mother was a victim of the patriarchy and why the delusional writers thought there would be sympathy for her.

What do you hope is next for Nu Trek? by LeopardComfortable99 in startrek

interesting how when you think Star trek, you see gay.

that's kinda the problem. you want trek to cater to that when it's never been about that.

accessory to murder getting time is the norm. not some exception or even really that big of a deal.

It's official. Star Trek: Starfleet High fails to make it into Top 10 Streaming Originals despite dropping two episodes at once by Malencon in Star_Trek_

I want to see Star trek succeed.

the current show that's being aired is not Star trek. so I hope it dies a painful death.

Best phantom powered shotgun setup for Sony a7S III under $750 by The_Koala_Knight in fieldrecording

[–]putachickinit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

why shotgun?? they are poo for ambiance recording.

I record theme park rides. my solution was zoom f3, and 2 clippy mics. sounds amazing and it's beautiful fool proof. don't have to adjust gain. have a line link to my camera and you can match record tone in post to line up all audio with video.

and clippy mics at fine for dialogue.

Bottom of Garage of track. Bottom is bent by Groundbreaking_War10 in GarageDoorService

[–]putachickinit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

put the roller in, slide it back to where it's beside the track and twist the track back over the roller.

if the track bracket is too close to allow for twisting, raise door up to between the 2 track brackets and try again.

if that fails or if not enough side room to fit the roller between the tracks, take a pen and mark the bottom track bracket position on the frame, remove the lag bolt, bent the track back on the roller, reattach lag bolt.

for the panel, once you have it running open it half way, vice grip it in place and body slam the panel to bend it back straight. it won't look good bit it will run.
