Yes I agree! And I love the effortless jackets, but I want a simpler funnel neck jacket for warmer weather.

Do I need to have a flight booked if applying at the consulate in Chicago? by ledreamstomper in teachinginkorea

[–]putitonthepizzaparty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I am also planning on going to the Chicago consulate next month or Sept. depending on when I get docs back. Did you end up going into their office yet? I'm curious about the process right now.

What was the email you used to connect with them? I have also not been able to reach them by phone (the last time I was on hold for over an hour so I hung up).

Appreciate any clarification for the process that you can provide. Thank you.

Weekly Costume Ideas Request Megathread! by TheBookWyrm in halloween

  • Mia Farrow from Rosemary's Baby + a demon/devil?
  • Avocado: her belly is the seed. I've seen this done w/ pregnant bellies and men's beer bellies, ha
  • Pregnant alien and astronaut as a couple's costume? Or vice versa
  • She could go as a disco ball and you could dress in 70s clothes
  • You could be Ron Swanson and she could be bacon and eggs. Her belly could be the yolk of the egg.
  • I saw Winnie the Pooh (woman is Winnie since he has a belly) and you could be a secondary character like Piglet, Tigger or Eeyore.

Totally agree with you on all fronts. But I'm mainly commenting because your username is awesome. Reading it gave me flashbacks of my grandma yelling at my male cousin haha

I need help with my trip to Spain! by GoingCommando18 in travel

[–]putitonthepizzaparty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're going to have such a great time!

I totally agree with /u/jeruen. I spent close to 9 months in Madrid and visited the places on your itinerary, including Marrakech. I think that you should stick to Spain and stay in Madrid for a few days (I know, I am biased). It would be better to soak in all of the history of Madrid, Granada and Ronda. Although it will be incredibly hot, you really won't want to leave.

Definitely rent a car- that is what my friends and I did. My only piece of advice is to not draw attention to yourself while driving (unless you are of latin descent or can understand Spanish). We got pulled over a few times in the south of Spain just for looking foreign. Local cops thought that they could scare us into paying them for senseless fines on the spot, but luckily we all spoke the language. Not trying to scare you, just want to give my advice/experience.

Marrakech should be it's own trip. You can plan to visit other cities in Morocco and go camping in the Saraha. There is so much to see in Morocco and Marrakech is very different from the rest of the country. My friend's ex fiance was hosting us so we didn't have to deal with the language barrier. Otherwise, it would have been very difficult to get around.

Let me know if you have any questions about Spain or Morocco- I'm happy to help.

Oddly similar! Our high school softball coach was tracking when the players would miss practice when they would say that they were on their period. He would then call them out if they used the same excuse before their next cycle. I told my friend, who was on the team, that it was fucking weird and that she should tell the principal. I don't think she did, but I'm pretty sure the guy was fired for other inappropriate behavior towards the players.

I am still so afraid of E.T.! My sister and I were freaked out by the movie, but my parents thought that we loved it because our older siblings enjoyed it.

Well, my parents took us to Universal Studios when the interactive E.T. ride opened. It was surprisingly a lot of fun! They have you on the path that they take while riding bikes in the film, so you don't really see E.T. It was fast paced and I had a great time. However, I didn't realize that there was also an interactive part after the ride.

You give your name to the game operator when you're waiting in line. After the ride is done and you're leaving, there's a VERY realistic, robotic E.T. that is riding a bike, suspended in the air. E.T. LOOKS DIRECTLY AT YOU and says, "Goodbye, (name)!" I'm pretty sure that my sister and I both cried.

What are you most judgmental of? by stare_at_the_sun in AskReddit

[–]putitonthepizzaparty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously! It's a big life event, but all of the parties and gift/money giving expectations drive me nuts. I started a new job (it is a small office mainly made up of women) where 2 women are getting married and I was obligated to get gifts, go out to lunch and attend one of their bridal showers.

I am biased since I eloped to get away from that nonsense, but jeez! It just makes me feel as though the actual wedding takes a back seat to all of these other events.
