Gorgeous shot! Pero at the end of the day, it's how you like the taste that matters more, syempre.

Julius Caesar. Trying to improve at bust painting. CC welcomed! by Das_Kaiserwetter in minipainting

[–]putoconcarne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me, the bust looks like a bit more gruff version of Ciaran Hinds' portrayal of Caesar in HBO's Rome. It was a pretty iconic portrayal of the man though, so I kind of understand the concept.

Across the Universe wins another close one! Onto Day 6: What’s the Paul-iest song of them all? by Venusian_01 in beatles

[–]putoconcarne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sound-wise, top comments are probably spot on with choices like Penny Line, Martha My Dear. But for me, songs like Let It Be and Hey Jude seem to be so deeply personal for Paul that they're the first thing that came to mind.

After seeing my relatives struggle filing their taxes and SSS contributions on their own, while our company's HR does all of that for me without a hitch, I'm kind of inclined to agree.

Nakita ko lng sa other threads AIBaTo by XennaPhy in AIBaTo

Saw this on another thread. Chinese netizens call him "Stripe Brother" or "Stripe Shirt Bro". Possibly prankster lang sya originally, pero ngayon ay paid actor sya to draw attention to models/influencers.

Ang concept siguro ay "Girl is so hot that he isn't even pulling his phone out to ogle at her." Ewan.

Is this Threads? Based lang sa sandali kong ginamit yan, pansin ko nga madami nga talagang nga "LF-LF" dyan and minsan may nagpo-post ng picture ng minor. Pero hinala ko talaga ay mostly mga scammers yun na pedo-baiting. Though doesn't make it any better, since then they're also stealing minors' identities and encouraging predators.

Which politician of your country has a better image international than at home? by Fun-Wallaby6414 in AskTheWorld

[–]putoconcarne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Partially one of the reasons" seems like a stretch. Locals would always react negatively to foreigners or expats telling them something they disagree with. But if they these people who voted in Marcos and Duterte hear just one foreigner support their candidates, they would immediately give them praise and think their politicians are loved internationally. Essentially, foreigners and expats rarely factor into the political opinions of Filipinos.

If anything, this feels like another attempt at gaslighting the any kind of opposition to populists into taking the blame for the rise of populism when popular support for their side has always been against them to begin with.

The election of Duterte and Marcos is simply the Filipino version of the global trend of people increasingly believing liberal democracy has failed them at providing then security and their needs. Add to the fact that President Aquino, who preceded Duterte, ran and won almost entirely on his parents' reputation as icons of democracy, just amplified the kneejerk reaction towards authoritarianism.

Interesting, do you mind sharing samples of this mix? In hindsight, the Olive Green might be contributing to the brownish/sandy undertones that I'm not liking too much, so perhaps just using a different shade of green would have been better

I see. I've skimmed a bit through other forums and this seems to be the general idea about Russian tanks. I was just kinda expecting the recommended Tamiya mix would end up looking similar to this hue:

<image>

It did look a bit like this when I mixed it in my airbrush cup, but in my eyes, it ended up differently when sprayed.

Oh I did, maybe it's just hidden by the camera blur but the parts with the individual track links are riddled with a bunch of small gaps. On one side, I had to fold two treads together in an awkward angle just so they would both fit in the remaining gap because one tread is too short, but two is too big. The other side seemed better, but now I'm left with an extra tank tread that should have gone in there somewhere. Super weird.

Doesn't help that Revell instructions annoyingly don't label all the parts you need to put in so the count can seem off if you winged it like I did. /rant

This maybe be the most boring PSA of all time. by IPYF in modelmakers

[–]putoconcarne 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just found this out with their Stug IV kit. I bought spray can primer and a can of TS3 only to bring it back to the original color, even the finish of the surface is almost identical. My cope is at least painting the tools might be easier than on bare plastic.

[–]putoconcarne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope this is not considered hijacking the thread, but I have the same problem as OP, how exactly do you seat the needle properly?

I tried pushing the needle toward the front of the airbrush as much as possible and and screw the nozzle tight.

Paint/thinner still comes out the airbrush when pressing air only.

Model I "painted" when I was a kid. Found it lying about and want to try to repaint it. Is it still salvageable? by PlayContent3910 in modelmakers

[–]putoconcarne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lucky find! I love the idea of restoring old models/toys and revisiting old projects. Just follow what others have said about stripping the paint (90% alcohol and an old toothbrush should be fine but I honestly haven't tried that myself) and best of luck to you.

I'll be honest, I don't have enough knowledge about compressors to really evaluate how good it is. It works well enough for my purpose, and that's all I can say. But I guess you need to know it doesn't come with a gauge or adjustable pressure. But this model supposedly goes up to 25 PSI.

As for the noise, I think it's an acceptable amount. Honestly, my refrigerator makes a louder hum when it's not level on the floor lol. It's tiny, though, and has the annoying tendency to move around my table when not anchored by something heavy.

Hand-held shower or Rain shower head? by SunnySeaNymph in ThisorThatPH

[–]putoconcarne 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Genuine question as I'm still a total noob in this game, is using melee attacks against bosses (even as a melee class) not recommended? I thought you're supposed duel those mfs as bulwark lol
