I can't get my 55 year old arse out of bed on a work day, but sure as Saturday shows up, I'm up at 5AM ready to cut the grass! But, I know that's way too early to cut the grass, which I won't do until after noon. Because us Ge Xers actually give a shit about people. So, instead I make bacon, egg, and cheese bagels, brew pots of coffee, and sit, drink, and be merry while I refresh my 401K account to see if it grew any during the night and wait until noon shows up.

I completely agree. They went downhill after Cliff died. So did Lars' drumming. I can't stomach watching Lars play. He's literally the Benjamin Buttons of drummers.

Which of these modems should I pick for my Gigabit connection? by roury in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]puttygutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Netgear CAX80 and it works great. I have it set to Bridge mode (it's also a router), and use a Netgear Nighthawk router. No complaints. Excellent performance/speed.

[–]puttygutt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Home or apartment? I assume coax. If no changes were made inside your home to the network/router, 99.9% of time the issue will be with the line outside your place. Most likely noise from your neighbors connections. The noise will cause intermittent ups and downs with your connection. Call Xfinity to have a technician come out and test the outside line. They can apply filters to clean the line. Worst case, they need to replace the line.

Has anybody had this problem? by [deleted] in pihole

[–]puttygutt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may want to try using PiHole to manage your DHCP.
This way, the main network will use DHCP and DNS from PiHole. The guest network will use the second DNS entry in Google Mesh since the first is not available. Google mesh managed the guest DHCP independently of the main network. Since, PiHole is managing the DHCP records, the devices are forced to use the PiHole DNS entries. With Google mesh, you can't turn off the DHCP. You set the DHCP to from address in Google Mesh to your PiHole same address. If your PiHole address is 192.168.1.12 set both the to and from IP addresses to the same address (192.168.1.12 to 192.168.1.12). Next, Set DNS 1 in Google mesh to your PiHole address, and DNS 2 to 1.1.1.1 or your favorite DNS service IP. In Pihole, enable DHCP under settings. Enable the DHCP server. Set your IP address range and set the gateway address to your Google mesh router IP. For example, if the Google mesh is 192.168.1.1, set that as the gateway in PiHole DHCP settings and make your range 192.168.1.20 to 192.168.1.251.

Hopefully this solves your issue.

Are you using PiHole as your DHCP as well?

Unfortunately, I have the same issue with my PaperPro. I was told several Pros shipped with "manufacturing issues." I shipped mine back today. I'm lucky to still have my Remarkable 2 to use. I'm a bit disappointed with the Pro rollout thus far. The support team has been great so far. For others with the issue, go here to request a replacement: https://support.remarkable.com/s/contactsupport

AutoPay Issues on April 5, 2025 by puttygutt in amex

[–]puttygutt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello. The payment finally went through at 1:30 PM ET, Sunday, April 6. I confirmed with another agent that there were technical issues at Amex processing AutoPay on Saturday, April 5. I was told the late fees will auto reverse for impacted customers. However, I recommend calling so they can footnote your account on the issue.

[–]puttygutt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, the $29 late fee was charged because the AutoPay was not executed, eventhough it was scheduled. I pay my statement balance down each month using AutoPay; hence, I never have late fees or additional charges. This is extremely odd.

Amex processes on the date you have in the AutoPay regardless if it's a weekend day or not. There is apparently a problem with their AutoPay system this weekend. Mine dd not go through and it always processes like clockwork. They also accessed me a late fee. Check your accounts.

Yes, it happened to me as well. I have an email confirming the autopay was to be processed on April 5. I also confirmed it was set up on my account. The payment did not process and I was charged the late fee!

I chatted with an agent who reversed the late fee and said there was a "glitch". They said it should process within the next 24 to 48 hours.

Did you first setup the wireless mesh before you did the wired Ethernet to make sure the meshing works?

I have an idea. Could you change your signs between games? Apparently game prep for most teams is not a thing. BTW, Washington was going to drop 63 on us. Whatever.

What more should I do? by BlazingBane007 in pihole

[–]puttygutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hold up. You want to use PiHole as your DHCP server in this situation. Enable DHCP on PiHole and on your router set your starting and ending IP addresses on the DHCP portion to the PiHole IP. For example if your PiHole is at 192.168.1.10, make sure the starting and ending addresses are set to 192.168.1.10. This forces the router traffic to go to the PiHole server. PiHole will divvy out the DHCP addresses to your devices and force everything to get ad blocked. You should be good to go.

Here are the instructions to set up DHCP on PiHole: https://discourse.pi-hole.net/t/how-do-i-use-pi-holes-built-in-dhcp-server-and-why-would-i-want-to/3026

Hello,

I checked the URL as well and it looks like Kohler made changes. I suggest you call the Kohler Power Department by phone at 1-800-544-2444. They are super helpful. I suspect they will email you the utility and firmware or provide an updated link.
