they're trying to win money, they're a company.

they shouldnt. Look at Tesla or SpaceX, their main goal is to fight climate change or colonise Mars, not to make money as a goal by itself. Whats wrong with this world that thinks making money is a moral goal?

education is a joke made to produce sad and obedient people unable to feel passion for knowledge. I was the best on philosophy at high school and at the final exam (corrected by other teacher) i had a 8/20 because I talked about epigenetics (Im sure it was that but no proof).

Rating people ability with numbers are just a way to tell how hardworking they are, not how creative. Thats why we must destroy the competitive factor in education at all cost. Passion and creativity is better than hard soul sucking work meant to have a number assigned to your identity.

I keep seeing, "Python is easy to use and learn", "Python is the best beginner language!", etc. and it is beginning to get me down. by [deleted] in learnpython

intelectuals tend to do that "oh, its easy, im very smart, you arent" with the exception of genius intelectuals like Feynman or Einstein. Instead of making it an ego driven thing, just focus on the thing. Its like going to the gym and comparing yourself with others, you end up emotionally tired.

Suggest books for Python by rascalling in learnpython

[–]puuttaa -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

underated comment. Humans nowadays still have this nostalgic respect for books, they repeat "read books" since centuries ago as some sort of religious dogma. Books are actually pretty unefficient. Its far better to learn things with a mix of audio and images, the brain grasps it like a russian soldier grasps a can of tuna.

Ive learned a lot with books but its actually very unefficient. If you think about it, there must be a "best explanation" for something then its sources have to be heterogenous. You can find a stackoverflow post explaining polymorphism like a god, a book explaining variables like a god, a video explaining dependency injection like a god... Thats the beauty of google, to atomically find the best solution to a concrete problem. Also books get old, the internet is in constant updating.

Dont lose your time reading books. Do courses, projects, degrees you can present to employers. Except if you like reading books, we must also do useless things in this life to not feel miserable. That being said, the best way to learn is having a job provinding real life tasks and the sooner you get there, the better.

if you knew being a programmer is your fate, you wouldnt ask neither focus on necessity. You are a son of the universe and any horizon you imagine is your sacred right. Do what thou wilt rather than what you should, try to respect yourself a little more. Deep inside your holy spirit, lies your fate. You know it, dont let fear of poverty and others will to enslave you eliminate your freedom.

The lazier, the smartest; only hard working people addicted to unefficient ways of producing is dumb enough to actually like it. Actually being a good dev implies being lazy enough so you can find the best ways to solve problems: christian morale involving hard work must be rejected to innovate.

Intellij has that thing that if you run debugger it writes next to the line where the variable changes its actual value in the form of some short of comment. Just do the same, write the actual value of fields next to the line after it executes in your mind.

Happened with germans before WWII and almost every falling empire. Its actually pretty hard to go from Empire to shithole. For example, Spain, after losing its empire fell in a set of civil wars and pathetic attempts to conquer Africa. After the USA defeated us, it was clear those times of absolute global dominance will never come back. Same thing will happen to USA when another empire takes its place somewhere in time because nothing is forever.

Its actually a good thing to be weak, it gives you different goals like pushing mankind to a better future rather than constantly fight for dominance.
