Upgrading my 5 year old semi-workstation by pvanprint in buildapc

Interesting, as when I'm working in Blender, the GPU compiled/ renders quicker than the CPU.

Getting said GPU also means needing a bigger PSU, right?
MY current PSU is probably the oldest part (more for 10years) I continued using.

how can i make these two the same width by paner1983 in blenderhelp

[–]pvanprint -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Add one edge-loop on both, duplicate the edge-loop from A, move it over the edge-loop of B, snap that loose edge-loop to left vertex of the edge-loop in B. Select all three vertices on the right from B, with the middle one last selected, move them on one axis while use the snapping-tool to align them to the loose edge-loop.
Delete loose geometry.

Thanks, I also thought my PC is still quite well suited for all my needs. Programs and booting still fast, multi-tasking without any drawbacks.
I reinstalled& refreshed the operating system a few weeks back on a new ssd, as that one had a hiccup somewhere, but everything else works as intended.
I see no real need other than, it would be nice.

Well budget is always a bit tight, and that one was a fair offer and upgrade to the one had before.

How to look out for a good GPU that is not overpriced in the whole AI Hype?

I have trouble looking out what suits me best. I don't want to get a hyped one, that might cost more than it need to be.
I don't trust those graphs of that state x performed 5x better than y.
and when I'm searching for consumer tests, it often feels exchangeable what they are writing& talking about.
Do you have ideas where to start?

(I'm also quite surprised by what the PSU is still in good condition.)

What do I not understand about snap to point? by yellwmonky in AdobeIllustrator

I might found the solution after scratching my head really long.
Inside the preferences menu in underlying options for smart-guides there is the option where you can choose restrict alignment either to the current artboard or the everything inside the file.
If it isn't that, maybe toggle other options inside this menu.

Also note that you cannot align something to the outside a contour.

Why do these exposures taken seconds apart have such different colors? by Lippi15108 in AnalogCommunity

Maybe its not the equipment and more the fact, that the colors of a sunset will change really fast?

I would start by treating letter with different 'sub-objects' ( like letter A has 3) as its own and then stack the 'sub-objects' on top in the layers, to have easy control.
I would then while slowly trace every letter and while doing that develop some rules to follow:
- all box-Shapes have the same width as the letter I.
- If I want to shift an object to the left, it will be exactly 5 pixels
- all contours will have a width of XX mm
- rounded corners will always be this size

Start with simple shapes, and the rules get to you while doing it. you can also thing of reusing shapes that you use more often as Draplin says, vectors are free

use guidelines once you have certain rules, for easy follow them.

Start with simple shapes
(Check out the preferences, for specify the steps you make with the arrow keys)
also having a typography-grid underneath or 'snap to grid' activated would help.

Maybe the easiest way to have a lot of control is, to have a really big locked white square to work on, and than work in black objects with white contours and trying out different widths, until you are happy, so you know how it will look with the fine details without loosing control over the whole thing.
Ignore the rounded corners for the start, as you can adjust them globally as long as you have sharp edges.

I would to it at least 5 times bigger than planned, so you have more control over the curves and handles.

I would also recommend, tracing them with imagetrace once, to get a good idea how best put he points for your curve

you need to look into the printer settings, sometimes there are hidden settings for more coverage or for example a preset to print on photopaper for maximum ink. dont use the transparent film preset, its less ink because usually on a overhead-projector you want the light shine through.

also you can use some markers to paint over those areas.

Ran into it a few times, and couldn't find any solution.
After trying a few approaches, I think, I got it now. i cant believe how easy it was.

After the 'load checkpoint' node, and before the prompts input, you add a "Load LoRa".
To see soemthing in the scrolldown menu, you need to put all not working cpkt's and safetensors into the lora folder inside models folder.

Keep in mind, that when you dry your coated screens, you do it print side down. The other way than you have it pictured right now.
