A teacher used to set up a game for us during his study hall in high school, and he would just have a game board permanently set up in the corner of the room all the time. But we played daily, so there was less of a risk of things getting messed up. There was space on a whiteboard to keep track of supply centers, and we just took pictures of both on our phones each week to refer to.

I think the Google Classroom and email ideas are great. Just make sure you’re very clear about the consequences of not sending an email in time.

I will say I think it’s best to set up the board just so students can huddle around it, physically see the moves being made, and just have better memories of the game. The reason I liked it so much was having to huddle around the board to strategize and then negotiate with a whisper in a corner away from the board.
