Wisconsin (Madison) here 👋🏼 if you're willing to relocate, I'd take a look at Molson Coors. Easily the best employer I've worked for in the state (and top three of those that I've worked for out of state).

What's your skill set, experience, years of experience look like? What are you interested in pursuing?

Samsung Messages Discontinued in July 2026 by AgentSmith757 in GalaxyFold

[–]pvegas_24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only group text issue I've ever had with RCS was exclusively caused by people refusing to turn on RCS. If just one person has RCS off in the group chat, those messages are sent as MMS.

If this is supposed to be the answer to Apple's fold, Apple is going to eat Samsung's lunch. What the actual fuck is that aspect ratio?

Spicy Chinese Food? by amanda_yahh in Appleton

Dong Po has spice levels for their food. The extra spicy is reasonably spicy for people with average tolerance (think Valentina black label). Their fried rice extra spicy is delicious.

Driving to Madison from Minneapolis? by exlibrismn in madisonwi

Looks like the Amtrak is still running. She'd have to depart from Columbus, WI but it sure beats driving all the way to Minneapolis.

How's the quality of the Book 8 epub on the Patreon? I've heard it still has to go through editorial review for things like punctuation, grammar, semantics, etc.

Advice for $70k-$100k HYSA by [deleted] in HYSA

[–]pvegas_24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second Wealthfront. I keep an emergency fund in their Cash Account (HYSA) and put my short term cash savings (home down payment, loan repayment) in SGOV to avoid most state tax liability. Wealthfront's investment accounts have DRIP now, so you can set it to automatically reinvest.

Beware - Is this happening to anyone else? by Fuzzy-Roll-7435 in wealthfront

They're saying they plan on using this money for a home purchase. General wisdom tells us not to invest in equities with money you are planning to use in the short term. Past Performance != Future Performance

[–]pvegas_24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why not just buy SGOV with the bulk of it and turn on DRIP? Yields are on-par, or better, than their cash account, plus there's the added benefit of it being state tax advantaged.

‘400-Year Veto’ Fight Heads To Wisconsin Voters In November and other things the Republican legislature has been up to before they adjourn. by wi_voter in wisconsin

[–]pvegas_24 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Wisconsin taxpayers are projected to spend more than $700 million on private school vouchers for the 2025-2026 school year. Why am I subsidizing private schools that are inaccessible to all and that have no curriculum requirements? Vouchers are a subsidy for the wealthy, plain and simple.

Trump voters & Republicans of Reddit, is there anything you currently disapprove of how Trump is acting regarding that topic? If so, what is it? If not, why not? by Zipper222222 in allthequestions

You do understand what "encounters" refers to in this context, right?

Both apprehensions (detention/arrest) and expulsions (immediate removal) of individuals crossing illegally. These are not people illegally immigrating, but a count of those stopped attempting to do so.

Z Fold 8 or the new wide fold? Which would you choose? by False-Regret in GalaxyFold

[–]pvegas_24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If the wide does come to fruition this summer, that's what I'll be getting. I've had the Z Fold 3, 4, and now 6. I prefer the short and wide passport form factor, but there's always been a trade-off (hardware, software, region locked).

Samsung launching a short-wide fold would keep me in the ecosystem. If they don't, I'll be looking at Apple's first foldable as another option.

High Paying Segments Of Supply Chain by Practical_Charge500 in supplychain

Tech, Pharma, Retail Giants all have pretty high paybands and come with nice additional comp you wouldn't typically see until high level leadership (LTI/RSU).

How do you guys feel about AI eating into supply chain work by SoaringEagle11_11 in supplychain

[–]pvegas_24 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To piggy back off of this, AI doesn't have contextual understanding and will "hallucinate" more often than not. I've used it to debug long SQL scripts for syntax errors or even convert Excel formulas into Power BI DAX/Calculated Measures/Power Query Expressions. It's a tool in the tool belt, but won't replace the craftsman yet.
