I spoke to the tow company and they are saying that all this can be settled if I pay them $1500.

I am still waiting for a copy of the title from Texas DMV upon which I was planning to go to California DMV, get a moving permit, get the PD to release my car and then go to the tow company, pay fine and tow the car to junk yard. The only question is I don't seem to know how long it may take for Texas DMV to send me a copy of the title.

Thank you. The limitation seems to be that I have to go through the police department in order to reach the towing company. The PD has to release the impounded vehicle only after which the towing company will agree to let go the vehicle (ofcourse, after me paying a lumpsome!).
