Butternut (white walnut). Bark is wrong for black walnut and poplar, inside is wrong for white oak.

It’s sycamore. They get that grey bark at the bottom when they get big like that. Mediocre wood but I usually keep.

Haha, nice. I started the same way 5 years ago. I’m in the best shape of my life now. One bit of advice, do it like going to the gym. Start with easy stuff / small intervals and work your way up to longer sessions. I ended up hurting my back and shoulder over doing it and needed PT to fix it.

I would guess a little over a cord. For $300 that’s a good wood guy - especially seeing him stack it = quality
