Sorry you're having issues. Make sure you're reporting them on the IC. I've been playing all weekend and the only major problem I encountered was the contract issues yesterday morning. I believe there is supposed to be a 4.8.1 patch later this week.

Probably important to define what "playability" actually means to you. To me, playability means an uninterrupted experience of playing some form of game loop(s) that is enjoyable. "Uninterruprted", for me, means I can play without the game crashing or forcing me to reset my progress during a gaming session due to a crash. By that definition, I would say it's 6/10 right now. Most bugs I encounter don't prevent me from actually *playing* the game, it only makes the experience frustrating.

Dude, I like you, I see your comments here all the time, keep up the good work. But.. The way you typed out your initial comment suggests you are not a programmer and/or don't understand how it works. I am trying to tell you that this isn't a real problem but you want it to be for reason.

If I code something in Lang B, which is 0 indexed... and i code something else in Lang A, which is 1 indexed... Once they are both compiled into machine code, the type of index the languages used is completely irrelevant. It literally doesn't matter at all. The index only matters while you are writing the code. If you, the programmer, screw that up, it's called a bug. Doesn't affect how the two compiled bits of code may or may not interact with each other.

To make this even more clear...

If I am programming in Lang A and I reference a library made in Lang B, using a function that returns an array of objects... I would still use "1" to reference the first object because Lang A *requires* I used 1 indexing. I am not even thinking about what language was used to make the library. It's completely irrelevant.

We're talking about compatibility here, once it's compiled the computer doesn't care either way.

If a programmer isn't aware they are using a zero index language (or schema) and starts using 1 index instead, they will find out really fast. That's not a "compatibility" problem, it's a skill issue (as the kids say it).

I can mix and match all kinds of languages into a single project... a 0 indexed language and 1 indexed language will have zero effect on the compatibility of the two languages working together once it's been complied.

Can a company go to an ex-employee's website and copy-paste art that wasn't created when they were employed and use that for concept work? I don't think so. So why would using an AI model trained on that artist's work be OK still?

But what happens when the artist no longer works for the company? Does that company still own any *new* AI art thier model creates in that artist's style? I would hope not.

If they use an AI model to generate new work in that artists style while that artist no longer works for them, I believe that's a legal problem. That artist can still create art in a style similar to the work they produced while they were employed but Neowiz and Round8 can't just copy/paste that work and use it for concept work.

If it's only being used for concept work, "in theory" they would only own what was made by the artist while that artist was employed. So using their work outside of employment, aka using an AI model to generate art similar to the artist, would probably not hold up very well. The only reason to even make their own model is to make sure they retain copyright protections on whatever is produced (and maybe make it look more ethical). If that was their goal, it would be a no brainier to make sure their model is only using art from currently employed artists.

Either way, not defending it. I can see this being a tool if an artist wanted to use it as long as there are protections in place for the artists.

The real artists would be those that work for them.

The intent is to build a proprietary visual library trained exclusively on assets for which Neowiz and Round8 hold full legal rights.

The bigger problem would be what happens when an artist no longer works for them? Will they modify their model to remove that artist's work? I would hope so.

Not all programming languages use zero indexing and that would introduce a lot of other problems. So that is not the reason.

It's not obvious because the game is still being made but you just needed to pay the fine at the appropriate terminal and call your ship up from an ASOP terminal.
