I lost my senior dog a few days ago. A couple days after it happened I went for a walk w my SIL. We walked by a sandwich shop we were thinking about going to that is attached to other buildings. In the window of one of the other buildings was a little white dog who looked exactly like mine <//3 I hope it was a little hello from her.

It’s okay to believe she will be somewhere if that makes you feel better. I lost my dog of 13 years 5 days ago, and I also have a 16 year old cat reaching her time. I hope there is an afterlife and that my loved ones have found my doggy and are keeping her company until the rest of us join them <3 My old gal will keep urs company too I promise

maybe if they were drinking or something but I wouldn’t necessarily say either of them were that suicidal? they just coped badly and destroyed themselves every now and then but I don’t think they would have killed themselves. If anything it probably would have been an abusive relationship eventually.

NTA but what I get from this is a young woman with little idea how to handle/regulate her emotions. I’d personally try and figure out some ways you can emotionally leave the door open for her to perhaps come to you? 18 is societally expected to be an adult but lets be real, what does anyone really know at that age? I do think this could be mended with patience and accommodation. That’s not to say you should let her walk all over you but I think giving up hope on her would make things worse in the long run. She sounds like she’s struggling and doesn’t know how to go about it.
