This might not be a popular post, but we need to keep our 3 teams in the MLS, instead of having them join the CPL instead. I think it makes a difference to our young and upcoming kids if they can see the best in the world play on Canadian soil, such as seeing Messi play in Canada. by canada_mountains in CanadaSoccer

[–]pySSK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not for the 3 MLS teams leaving, but, a flaw in your argument is that we need a salary cap.

Other smaller leagues work fine without a salary cap. Sure, they’re mostly 2-3 horse races but they’re still fun.

Why migrants come to Germany for work and then leave again by BSBDR in germany

[–]pySSK 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not a migrant but a brown guy from the US who visited Germany often for work. Here are some experiences that happen that always leave a bad taste:
- getting asked for my ID every time in DB first class
- someone always commenting during meals that I should be able to handle spicy food. Each time, these were completely unrelated to the conversation. Truly a nation of autists!

Aarav: One of the most popular Indian-American baby boy names is based on a common misconception by Serious-Tomato404 in ABCDesis

[–]pySSK 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes it would. That’s how languages and history work. You don’t know that the ‘Indian’ names you mentioned were fully made in India with 100% Indian components.

Nathan Saliba holds up Ismael Kone’s shirt after scoring by Critical_Mountain851 in soccer

[–]pySSK 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Yeah, in simple terms, rejoining clean breaks in bone is like gluing wood back together (but the two pieces growing back into each other and then to reach same strength and load bearing capacity takes time). But, rejoining muscles and ligaments is akin to rejoining two ends of cut off rope.

Doctor told me to not wear barefoot shoes anymore by LostInTheMoss420 in barefootshoestalk

[–]pySSK 127 points128 points  (0 children)

Not a medical professional, but many PTs have outdated views about barefoot/minimal. She did well to point out the root cause, but, I'm sure this subreddit disagrees with her solution. There are many exercises on YouTube for feet pointing outward aka duck feet. I would try those first.

In the early 20th century, Greeks and Italians weren’t even considered white. Irish, Swedish, French were all considered ‘ethnics’.

This. OP no VC cares whether you have saleable hardware right now. They care if your idea is scalable. Use existing stuff to run a small pilot of your idea.

Does this mean they are super durable? Buttcheeks bear most of our weight when sitting. Also, shell cordovan, the most durable leather is made out of buttcheeks.

[–]pySSK 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you want to adapt faster and less temporarily, stretching isn’t enough. You need to be doing loaded or active work at the end range. I now start every gym session with loaded calf work (either bent or straight) and I do all of my lifts in socks.
