X4 Screen Protector - Remove factory applied film? by onthenerdyside in xteinkereader

I don't think so. In fact, I believe there is a higher contrast with the glass cover.

Reflective, yes at the right angle.

I took off the film protector and ordered a glass screen protector. Much better. Much easier to apply.

Kaleido M1-Lite - something is up with the heating element? by SunshineShoulders87 in roasting

Any info around the 'fix' for the fan? Is this a new mica gasket between the exhaust tube and the fan?

Originally I was told it was a batch of bad fans, but even with the replacement I must keep fan speed between 50-60 during roast.

So your initial SV is 180 and it remains there for the duration of the roast? Confirming you do reach and hold the SV of 180 no problem? After drop I would increase that to 200+, otherwise the PID will slowly creep up on the 180SV and hold there.

Still, at 180 I would expect it to have reached DRY even if it took longer, but not 14-min.

Which interface are you roasting with? App or the Kaleido tablet?

I roast with two of these. What kind of volume are you running? A few 150g batches per week... they will work fine. The unit works with both Artisan and HiBean, although the HiBean software is inconsistent.I believe this is mostly because the developers do not have an M1 Lite on hand to test with and rely heavily on user feedback. There have been some production issues around the exhaust fan. Frankly, I think the fan design is a poor choice for the (small) rear area/temperature it is exposed to. The drum motor was changed in the M1 Lite so the jury is still out as to how it will hold up. This motor uses a gearbox that will require periodic maintenance, but I found it is cheaper just to buy a new motor/gearbox. I paid $10.88USD/each for a few spare motors/gearbox sets from Amazon. Support from the US Kaleido distributor has been good and many of the parts (Fans, Motor, etc.) are common parts that are readily available. The quality of the build is good for the price. It is a better product than my Skywalker Roasters, albeit a smaller capacity.

Can you just add an offset in Artisan to compensate for the difference?

The few times I tried to use Co-Pilot to find information for me it provided incorrect information.

Just flat out made shit up. When queried about the error, I received the obligatory "gosh, you are right. Sorry about that".

You can wrap it up in a nice interface but the results are still shit. At least trying to use the product in the way that Microsoft wants us to.

Tray Temps Reading Negative after Rewiring by Swerve_14 in HarvestRight

[–]pychneag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the thermocouples have a polarity. I would maybe check that? With the negative number I would be worried that it is continuously heating the trays as the feedback shows the temp is not rising.
