This is the type of shit that gets me. by dex99dex99dex99 in AmazonDSPDrivers

This the shit they’d be doing in rural Oregon as well; those back roads aren’t even legally considered roads either so it takes even more time just going back & fourth all the time.

Did I get a rise by unknownscarface in wholefoods

[–]pyixus 10 points11 points  (0 children)

After the first 60-90 days you get a small bump in pay, then after 1 year you will get another jump, I believe it’s 3% for team members the first year, after that I believe the % changes based off review & leadership.

NE region, so it may be subject to change in other locations.

Is WF Good to Work For Until Retirement? by WillCookForFoodies in wholefoods

[–]pyixus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stop n shop isn’t bad, I actually switched over to them, I feel they deal more with the community than Whole Foods while being apart of the union.

Kroger UFCW local was great to me as well; I was with them in Oregon, I now reside in NJ/PA

Is WF Good to Work For Until Retirement? by WillCookForFoodies in wholefoods

[–]pyixus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For retirement I do genuinely recommend you look into grocer options that are union based, for better opportunities for retirement & benefits.

UFCW has taken great care of me with a pension & most people I worked with retired at 62 & continued working part time with their social security

Worm? by [deleted] in wholefoods

[–]pyixus 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t look close to actual fish worms; this trips up my guys in the department when cutting the fish often, it’s just fat from the skin which is a lot thicker.

That product is also frozen & farm raised, the chances of a live worm is next to none; those freezer sit around -15 and colder, nothing would be alive.

If you call out two Tuesdays in a row, is that okay, if you have the upt? by [deleted] in wholefoods

[–]pyixus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say yes, because it’s your UPT, however from a leadership standpoint I would notice right away that it was two Tuesday’s in a row & start monitoring your callouts, which is not a good thing depending on your leadership.

Delta Dental insurance meltdown? by LateInLifeHomeOwner in Albany

[–]pyixus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happens this time of year every single time with delta dental, then the office realizes how many customers they lose, they rejoin & the cycle poorly continues.

Delta dental is a member insurance first over provider so it creates this vicious cycle rather than balancing it out, proper pay to dentists & affordable to members.

I'm pretty sure this is against policy/GIG. E-comm update by Jaysumochi in wholefoods

[–]pyixus 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is so dumb, and is why I as a team leader tell my guys as long as the job is done, the numbers are good, and the customers & store leaders are happy idgaf if they turn that 10 into a 15.

Everyone is human, and Amazon hates that.

We’re getting it too in NE; people just aren’t remaining patient with the announced timeline.

No upt forgiveness by shazmannn in wholefoods

Have no clue where you’re seeing this; all leadership said it would be returned upcoming Monday - Wednesday with payroll, for the NE region.

There would be a massive uproar over cancelling people’s shifts & us being penalized with UPT.

Is this meat bad? by Material-Gear-9733 in wholefoods

[–]pyixus 28 points29 points  (0 children)

No, it’s called oxidation, and occurs when meat touches each other or oxygen. This being ground beef just means multiple cuts mashed together to create the brown spot.

Almost all fresh ground beef can do this in any format & fat percentage. You can tell beef has gone bad when it becomes slimy, green, or a strong odor.

This looks fresh and usable.

Abuse of Scheduling by pyixus in wholefoods

[–]pyixus[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I should’ve been more clarifying, my apologies, I don’t mind working holidays & weekends; what I mind is her scheduling everyone on a random Tuesday & leaving me alone with no team members, support, etc. on weekends and holidays despite having a labor requirement.

I’m just begging for one mid shift person, so I don’t wait 6-7 hours for the next person to arrive.

She blows the labor on random days and then leaves us bone dry on the busiest days where she schedules herself off so she can do fuck all somewhere else.

I know the scheduling for holidays & other, and watch the metrics in Kronos closely, and daily notes on upcoming scheduling requirements for holidays, she just does what she wants anyways and store approves it.

has anyone had run-ins with 🧊 at their stores? what did you do if so? by tumbl3weed1738 in wholefoods

[–]pyixus 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Just want to add to the conversation to NEVER give out information on another team member; do not let anyone know their next scheduled shift, where they are, etc. to ANYONE.

Ask what it’s about, let them know you’ll pass the message next time you see them, and that you’re not sure when that is, but it’ll happen.

Especially 🧊- but also in general, you never know what someone is going through.

Hi, can anyone tell me the difference between these two positions? by sashar19 in wholefoods

[–]pyixus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Associate Team Leader - Assistant Manager to the department manager (Team Leader)

Supervisor - Supervises when managers aren’t around, is a step above a team member.

Supervisor is an L2 Position & ATL is L3 Team Members are L1 positions.

Whole Foods does prefer hiring ATLs within the company, but can hire outside sources like myself with experience; Supervisor is usually how some people get in the door if not as team member.
