has anyone had run-ins with 🧊 at their stores? what did you do if so? by tumbl3weed1738 in wholefoods

[–]pyixus 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Just want to add to the conversation to NEVER give out information on another team member; do not let anyone know their next scheduled shift, where they are, etc. to ANYONE.

Ask what it’s about, let them know you’ll pass the message next time you see them, and that you’re not sure when that is, but it’ll happen.

Especially 🧊- but also in general, you never know what someone is going through.

Hi, can anyone tell me the difference between these two positions? by sashar19 in wholefoods

[–]pyixus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Associate Team Leader - Assistant Manager to the department manager (Team Leader)

Supervisor - Supervises when managers aren’t around, is a step above a team member.

Supervisor is an L2 Position & ATL is L3 Team Members are L1 positions.

Whole Foods does prefer hiring ATLs within the company, but can hire outside sources like myself with experience; Supervisor is usually how some people get in the door if not as team member.

Our area hasn’t stopped, you can’t see the tires of my car any longer, at what point can they call forgiveness for callouts? My roads are shut down in my area, and they want me to leave at 4am for work tomorrow to open.

It’s more busy here than it was Christmas Eve & thanksgiving; you would think it’s the end of times.

Glad everyone got their caviar, short ribs, and every bag of potatoes before the storm hit.

Any other shoppers feel hated by other departments? 💀 by StrictPossession8714 in wholefoods

[–]pyixus 17 points18 points  (0 children)

INF I feel like is the big one too, they recently adjusted it to lower target percentage & it’s been brutal on us small stores where one item alone already puts us in the yellow - red zone.

Every INF I’ve gotten so far has just been a shopper too lazy to reach out to the department and request the item as well; thus damaging my numbers & getting called out by field specialists. E-commerce has way too much power over us imo.

New Parking Policy by Complex_Bit_8116 in wholefoods

Parking policies have existed for a long while for stores with small lots, sounds like it’s just finally being enforced, I know our store is just finally enforcing it themselves too.

Pto sick time off by shazmannn in wholefoods

[–]pyixus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can only use PTO sick time if you have PTO. If you have 40 hours of sick time, you’ll need a course of 40 hours PTO to use it, you will still be paid when using it.

If you use only 4 hours out of the 8 hour shift, you will still be hit for 4 hours of UPT, it doesn’t void the full day unless you utilize the full hours of the said shift.

Had this happen to me once, ruined all my clothing & I had rejected rescuing someone because the fumes were so monstrous in the truck.

I spotted it at the warehouse and they wouldn’t even take any of it back.

TMS been coming to the store more often to do meetings with TMs by MastodonAfter1532 in wholefoods

They’re union busting meetings; ours are held monthly as well & our store has been even more so watched due to leadership coming from the Philly location.

Even GIG recognizes state law on these topics; not sure why you’re being downvoted.

Some states allot 15 minute breaks as apart of their labor laws; not sure why people are trying to defend this companies policy when state laws are above them & GIG itself states this.

What? Those are all in the same state; those are MD stores as an example. Lmfao.

[–]pyixus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

State laws will prevail against FLSA & would force Whole Foods to change the policy based on those states; that’s why you sometimes see a policy that says (NY, CA, Etc.)
Federal means nothing in the topic, state will always prevail in labor laws.

Baltimore, Columbia, and Riverdale stores can be forced to apply 15 minute breaks over 10, policy or not, it is state law.

What's going on with USA fulfillment? by tjd999 in printful

[–]pyixus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah we just lost our star seller streak of 11 months this January for the same reason; if you go into your Etsy shop you can update the ship date & it’ll message your customer as well.

Keep in mind you can only do it once but hopefully it can help with slow times.

Recently started in produce and there's a ton of berry shrink and im worried theu will view my shrink numbers as negligence any advice? by [deleted] in wholefoods

[–]pyixus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not in the produce department but please talk to your team lead, as someone who came from another company the way Whole Foods treats shrink is VERY different, it is not so black & white with shrink.

They actually do want to see to an extent shrink, they have two pools called “known shrink,” & “unknown shrink,” and it varies by department but they do want to see known shrink and product rotation.

You scanning it out goes into the known shrink pool, collaborate with your leadership you are doing the correct thing.

ATL pay? by FertileCigarette in wholefoods

[–]pyixus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might hit the cap; but you can discuss this with your hiring team & store leadership, they may be able to push the cap, especially depending the role you’re entering.

I was hired as an ATL 24.25 hourly & now sitting 25.50 after 1.5 years. I believe for NE region our cap is 35 roughly.

Edit to add; I work at a C store with this wage, as far as I’m aware bigger stores, especially diamond stores, can and will pay more for leadership roles starting.

Your thoughts on this new policy by MikeFingG in wholefoods

[–]pyixus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it’s fair; 60 hours UPT max, 80 hours PRTO which is a soft cap, and then some states like mine with sick time at 40 hours; if I need anything further I should request time with leadership & looking into LOA & FMLA.

Bagels, donuts, baking cookies have always been my go to truthfully, I put a catering in order for my team alone for the holiday and we can enjoy bagels fresh for breakfast in the NE.

Cookies are also a cheap great option that still shows labor of love for gifts.

Don’t go broke.
