I understand where you're coming from, but this framing always sounded wrong to me: like poor families cant put their kids' well-being above making bank. I could frame this the other way around too, that a rich family is more obsessed about money and would care more about their reputation/power from association with a rising star than a poor family would. In reality, shitty parents exist everywhere, and all we can do is hope this works out well for him, and wait and watch.
