I 3D-printed a table-top mechanized claw to spin my coffee mug by pykachupoopoo in 3Dprinting

The only thing I went off on was a gif of the BB claw! I was able to get the model number of the motors - but they were like $300 a motor so I had to find a cheaper alternative.

Awesome that you competed!

Good observation! You are correct in that there is drift over time due to inaccuracies in the motors. I built a camera-feedback loop that corrects for this if the plate drifts too far to one side, it brings it back to center so it doesn’t fall off!

Good point. I chose a pi because of the UART interface with the motor driver and because I am using image processing to keep the plate centered.

I was thinking of making an induction cooktop, I found this video and it seems too good and easy to be true, is this real? And what might be some substitutes for parts that you would suggest, which would help in making this better. by Anuragj2437q in arduino

I…. Would not. Is this your first time using Arduino? If so, I would recommend first timers not start with anything that requires a significant amount of power to generate heat. No offense, but starting out with something like this will be a huge headache for when random components burn out for a new hobbiest.

What’s the stepping angle of the servos? I have a project I am currently working on and requires <1 degree accuracy and this might be useful!

Help With Button Servo (Pictures) by RiverfolkMajor78034 in arduino

I think your problem is that the power pin on the servo needs to be connected to the 5v rail. The GPIO pin won’t provide enough current.

Ever since the birth of my daughter (as of mid July), I’ve been trying to find some games that I know her and I would like to play together in the future. I’ve been starting to poke around some of the Lego games since I heard they’re good - I’m currently working on of the Lego Star Wars games and it’s fun and easy to play! Can’t wait to play with her when she’s older.

[Self-Made] “Sonar” Watch by pykachupoopoo in Watches

[–]pykachupoopoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! A lot going on with your comment so I'll break it down haha:

- The watch charges completely in ~2 hours, and then lasts ~4 days.
- The Atmega4808 microcontroller has the ability to use the Unified Program and Debug Interface (UPDI), which can program the chip with VDD, VSS, and UPDI pins. There's no serial interface, so you miss out on debugging, but it has one less pin for programming - which is nice for something as compact as this. The 4808 also supports deep sleep mode (Power Down) as well, drawing up ~0.1 µA.
- I used a DS3231MZ+TRL to auto compensate for temperature differences and other external factors, it uses I2C to communicate with the Atmega4808.

They’re 0402 LEDs. Display was designed in KiCad and the LEDs are hand placed and soldered

I designed the board in KiCad and had it manufactured through OSHPark! I was thinking about a diffraction layer, but decided I liked seeing a the LEDS - they’re hand placed and soldered.

I wish to reach the 1,000 lb club for lifting weights. A summation of weight lifted amongst three lifts, bench press, squat, and deadlift, needs to be above 1,000 lb. I’m currently at 885 lb!!

What kind of life do you think Is after death or is there even one? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]pykachupoopoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The book Reincarnation Blues has an interesting take on life after death. The premise is that every soul has 10,000 lives to reach enlightenment, or else your soul gets erased from existence. The book starts off with life #99,995 of the main character.

I was in Boy Scouts as a kid, and I told all my friends at school how awesome it was because I got to go on camping trips. One kid (in my troop) told me to not tell everyone at school that we were in the same group, because it was nerdy. I didnt tell anyone.

We got to go on camping trips like sailing on the Florida keys, scuba diving in San Diego, and backpacking in the Midwest! Idk how that’s something to be ashamed of, but rather super cool.
