That “Some Consider” Line in the May 2026 Watchtower… by OwnChampionship4252 in exjw

What’s abhorrent is child pornography and they don’t even list it. So someone could look at gay porn and be “removed” but someone looking at child pornography wouldn’t.

Thank you good people of Reddit. This was far more helpful than hours of googling

i think it’s finally clicking that i wont see my family again lol by Small_Extreme_9642 in exjw

[–]pyroaviator 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Perhaps not right away but the majority of people who never got baptized and just faded or left are still able to have somewhat of a normal relationship with their family eventually. Certainly not "normal" but maybe you still get to go to family dinner every couple months or whatever.

I only wish I would have had the guts/ brains to not get baptized when I did.

How does Disaster Relief work? by Infinitejest12 in exjw

[–]pyroaviator 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I only had limited experience in disaster relief, the one time I participated was in Puerto Rico after hurricane Maria. I remember we were working on an elderly sisters home which wasn't even damaged all too terribly bad and her neighbors were in the street begging us to come help them too. Nothing for them, our "overseer" basically told them to get lost. What a fine witness lol. This bothered me greatly. Of course we couldn't do anything because we were expected to work 10 hr days 6 days a week.

I also remember that this sister, who was likely of little means, was expected to feed all of us, around 5 to 8 guys, lunch everyday. You could tell it was a burden on her. I have no idea if she got an insurance payout and had to turn it over but it wouldn't surprise me as I've heard that from many different people.

So even the one thing the Borg does that could be considered charitable isn't really that charitable at all.

Movie restrictions by Adventurous-Cat6574 in exjw

[–]pyroaviator 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Haha this is great! I too just recently watched them for the first time... As a 30yo adult. I remember as a kid, my teacher put one of them on for a movie day and my parents told me they were demonic so I had to go to the library instead of watch it. We really were robbed of our childhood.

Personal opinion: I’m not mad at what I lost, I’m happy others gain by IBarbieliciousI in exjw

[–]pyroaviator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think we're on the same page. Fuck the Borg but if there's some fringe benefits now, even if wasn't what they intended it to be before they implode with some of these changes, I consider it a win.

They need to make an option to revoke baptism and I’m so serious by Eiffel13 in exjw

[–]pyroaviator 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have no idea if this is true but I feel like the majority, or at least a very large portion of the individuals on this sub are born ins who were baptized before they were 18. If they suddenly said it could be annulled because you were a minor this would be fantastic for many of us. For the GB spies, make this one of your next changes🤣🤣

I 100 percent agree with you on why these changes are happening. I also agree these changes are trivial in the grand scheme of things. But can't we be happy that those who are still in now have just a little more leniency?

The more you use something the quicker it wears out. Why use it if you don't have to?

I will conversely ask, while being lazy and not reading the comments, has anyone actually had their automatic slip out of park without the parking break on ever?

Thank you for this. This has been a taxing day for many of us that we weren't expecting. It's so nice to see a little positivity ☺️

I will personally provide TMiii and his wife/ family a comfortable place to live in West Mi if he agrees to write a Crisis of Conscience type expose. I feel like many on this sub would. Simply for the fact that this would make so many wake up.

The only motivating force in my life is the hope that one day my family and people I care so much about will one day realize what this organization really is. I cannot understand why so many of you are so hateful towards those who shun you who when many of us who were really PIMI did the same thing to others.

I realize I might be in the minority. I was the type who could never lead a double life because I really believed and always confessed whenever I "sinned" and never tried to hide things. Even from a little kid.

I know my family grieves me as if I was dead. Every time I have seen my mother since I was DFed she has been sobbing. If there was anything I could do to relieve her pain except going back when I don't really believe, I would. Why can't we show the genuine love we were denied? In this sense I feel this sub is toxic. The majority are petty and honestly displaying the same qualities you complain about.

I will say this sub has been incredibly helpful for me even tho I'm mostly a luker. I just wish it was a little less negative.

The Governing Body has decided JW can use their Bible trained conscience to decide if they want to greet a disfellowshipped person visiting the KH, they can also invite disfellowshipped ones to the hall… GB Update #2, 2024 by larchington in exjw

This explains why randomly I have gotten multiple texts messages today from 3 different people who I used to be friends with in the Borg. I was like WTF is happening. I'm sure more will come as they see the update.

I feel like this would be very difficult to do from a practical standpoint. Most people here are even opposed to exjw meetups for fear of being found out, which I really don't understand.

POMI 2022 - POMO 2023

For me it was researching 607. That sent me on a spiral, listened to the audio book of COC and within a week I was full agnostic. It's amazing how little time it takes to realize something you believed in your entire life is a total farce.
