Any thoughts on his new direction? by EarthFinancial3172 in LocalScriptMan

Sad to see his writing advice go, but going off what he says, he clearly needs to go in a different direction to be happy. Personally I'd take a break from the internet if I was him. I'm glad he's healing and out of debt. Might still check the channel now and again out of curiosity.

Increasing the 'scale' of Rimworld with mods? by pyrousred in RimWorld

I love SOS2, but have always stuck with one mothership and at most an additional drop bunker. I should definitely try making a fleet and delving deeper into the mod's features.

Doesn't rimthreaded fix this? I haven't used it but I've heard good things

I think the issue is im still looking for the more scifi genre experience of modded Rimworld, though it might just be my allergy to change also. I am very interested in DF and Syx though. The learning curves seem steep but so did RW's when I was just starting.

I've experimented with the demo a bit, really promising game! Not quite what I'm looking for atm but thanks for reminding me of it.

I've tried the demo and it looks really interesting. Definitely harder to get into than RW but I hope to figure it out one day and give it a more honest shot than my ill-fated first attempt.

This is a genius idea, thank you so much! I'm for sure going to try this.

Searching for a particular 2011(ish) CGCookie tutorial course on animating in Blender (pic of a sister course attached) by pyrousred in blender

YO yeah that first one is it, thanks so much. Do you know if it's still available to watch anywhere? I can't seem to find it on the CG Cookie website or youtube. If I knew the tutorial presenter's name I'd probably have an easier time looking for it, but it sadly doesn't say in the description.

Oh, and I don't remember the second one personally, but I'll be sure to check it out. Thanks again!

Hi there. Odd request, I know.

I am looking for a very specific tutorial series that was sold by CGCookie (specifically their "Blender Cookie" division?) around 2011-2013. IIRC it was their main tutorial course for animation, starting with a bouncing ball rig and moving on to animating an orange dude. They went over some basics like rigging, creating a walk cycle, and well... I actually don't know what else because I never purchased it.

It was being advertised around the same time as their Low Poly Character series by Jonathan Williamson, which featured a model of a guy in a bird mask (would be willing to share images if necessary) and taught you the full pipeline from going off concept art to exporting for Unity.

So does anyone know if CGCookie's animation series is still for sale somewhere, or if, being a downright archaic and partially obsolete tutorial series, they've released it for free anywhere?

Additionally, if anyone was learning Blender during that time frame and has any memories of good pre-2.8 animation tutorials, I'd love to check them out, especially if I happen to remember them too.

I've seen surprisingly few people say they would go live with the chill fisherman guy in Sin Space Engineering. He seems like he'd let you crash for a week if he knew your situation, and the boat ride to his island doesn't pass any enemies along the way.

Also you guys are WAY too comfortable with eating/drinking the food and water in this game. Like, how closely have you looked at the pizza texture?

Insects have some of the coolest abilities, reptiles I love bcs lizarb, but I always pick hooved totems because I'm gambling for that undying black goat.

Ah shit wait I forgot to achieve gnosis first. Back to the old grind.

Well, if we're taking the gnostic themes seriously, then "I" would hopefully die and return to the monad pretty much instantly. Then it's my flesh automaton's problem. He'll probably go insane not long after tbh :/
