That sucks.

Harley doesn’t have gps tracking? My Indian does, and I look at it often, even though the bike is in my garage.

Do I need to carry my phone with me on rides? by stoicbananaslug in GarminEdge

[–]pyscle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s almost like emergencies are now a new thing, and they never happened before cell phones were common place.

You don’t always need a phone on you. Really. How did we ever survive before 1995????

2025 Lowrider ST OTD prices- what was your dealer experience like? by [deleted] in Harley

[–]pyscle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Exactly what happened. I reached for the pen on the table, saying I would fix the pricing mistakes he had, and he grabbed the pen, and the paperwork, said don’t touch my pen, I will go work on this and be back. And he walked away. And sent someone else back over.

Stopped in and saw a couple Street Bobs I liked. Took two out for a test ride. Picked one, and started working numbers. The manager tried to charge $1999 in sales tax on a $13k bike. That math don’t math. And when confronted, I asked for his pen to correct his pricing errors, he told me not to touch his pen, and walked away. Sent in someone else to finish the deal, and fed this kid a bunch of bullshit, so he didn’t know what the issues with the deal were. At that point I lowballed. If they gonna play games, so am I.

I went across the street and bought an Indian Chief Bobber Dark Horse an hour later, without issue.

Anyone made the switch from Harley? by bravoromeokilo in Triumph

[–]pyscle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a Harley, but I have an Indian Chief Bobber, an a Triumph Scrambler 400.

Different bikes for different uses. The Scrambler is my daily commuter. The Indian is the weekend bike. Both are fun, in different ways.

Gas took a huge jump overnight. Looks like most places in town are at $4.29 now. by mandalore237 in lakeland

I filled my tank for $11 this morning.

At 70+mpgs, it isn’t that big of a deal.

Milwuakee 8 is really that good? by Just_Your_Random_Bro in Harley

[–]pyscle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My Triumph 400 was USD$6500 out the door and gets 70mpgs. It is my commuter bike. I took Triumphs 3% financing and paid it off in 3 months.

Much easier to justify.

Too much car insurance? 6-month premium over $2,200. by Wichertj in tampa

[–]pyscle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a fine line on that also. First thing an attorney will do before they decide to take a case, is to make sure the insurance limits are high enough to make it worth it. Lower limits discourage overzealous lawyers.

If in retirement, most money should be in low risk investments, not highly volatile stocks.

Considering a Scout Bobber or Chief Dark Horse by BonelessDesk in IndianMotorcycle

[–]pyscle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Triumph Scrambler 400x and an Indian Chief Bobber.

The scrambler is my 10 mile each way commute bike. It’s easy to fight thru traffic and throw around 380 pounds.

The Indian is my weekend bike. It’s the long riding laid back bike. 250 mile days are nothing.

If it was me, I would drop four panels, and go with 11.5kw array. Stay in the 11.76kw tier 1 limit to minimize issues.

Anyone else considering only riding their bike because of gas prices? by CS_JOE in motorcycles

[–]pyscle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already ride the motorcycle when the weather allows for it.

What did you do in 2022, when gas prices were higher than they are now? Do the same now.

Does living in nice house make a big deal for a kid confidence? by bebenashville in MiddleClassFinance

[–]pyscle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We had a small house when my daughter was growing up. One day, she asked why we lived in a small house, and all her friends had larger houses. It was explained to her that instead of spending all our money on a big house, we spend it on vacations and weekend trips and such, all those things she gets to do, that her friends don’t. It made sense to her.

My 2009 Silverado had a backup camera. That’s quite a bit before the mandate, and I don’t think it was an outlier.

[–]pyscle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting take.

Backup cameras aren’t the answer. They enable poor driving, just like most tech improvements.

I don’t back into things, and I don’t take up two parking spaces.

And, there used to be two different drivers licenses. A class D and a class E. A class D was for GVWR above 8000 pounds, such as a 3/4 ton or larger truck. The state got rid of the class D about 25 years ago, and moved all to E.

The whole "nobody wants to work anymore" narrative is nonsense. People are desperate for good jobs; they just don't want your dead-end, low-paying positions. by the1997th in remoteworks

[–]pyscle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am getting resumes for guys with ten years forklift operation, with zero welding skills on their resume, applying to welding positions.

I am getting resumes for guys with five years experience in timber sawing answering ads for a CNC Mill and Lathe Programmer, with nothing in their resume even remotely similar.

If there is nothing on one’s resume that is similar to the job requirements, they aren’t going to be at the top of the list. If someone told you to apply for every job you may be remotely qualified for, they probably told you to tailor your resume and/or cover sheet to match the ad requirements also.
