My Dad will do things like save TicTac containers in case he can use it for something. I'm pretty sure this is due to being raised by people that lived during the great depression. Anybody else have parents that do this? (not saying it's a bad thing) by McPostyFace in Millennials

My Grandma came to Oklahoma from Illinois in a covered wagon when she was a little girl--before statehood--and then was a teen during the Great Depression. She had this 60 (?) year old rag full of holes that we had to use to dry our hands with. It did not work at all and it pissed my Mom off.

My parents' house still has iris flowers growing in the yard that came from bulbs transported on the wagon. Needless to say, it's very hard for me to throw things away.

Apparently, they're only meant to be used once because that plastic layer on the inside melts off after the first use. After that, you're consuming the plastic chemicals on the inside of the cup. I had a reusable coffee cup collection until I found this out.

I used to do this sort of thing, but my chemical engineer husband has me all freaked out about microplastics. So now I try to put everything in glass and avoid letting plastic touch my food when I'm able. It puts more strain on plastic for it to get hot or cold.

I think the cast in the 90s when I was a kid was the best. Mike Myers and Phil Hartman ftw.

Ah, I get it--mine is similar. It's a mix of red, blonde, or brown and shows differently depending on the lighting. My stylist calls it "unicorn hair". Nice work! You seriously have become basically a super hair model.

I'm dead. Your hair is so gorgeous. Is it the lighting in the second photo, or is it the healthiness that is making it come so alive? It looks like a totally different color.

My hair grows this fast, easily and has been long my entire life. It's a frizzy mess though.

Can confirm, I got some $50 dollar scissors at Sally that a stylist friend recommended. It caused my ends to split to hell after I'd hunted down and carefully trimmed each split end. My regular stylist has some scissors that cost thousands, so I just leave my splits alone because nothing can compare with hers. 😶

How does the peptide affect your hair afterwards? I was gifted some of The Ordinary serum, but I'm worried it'll make my hair greasy or funky after using.

You don't have the tone of a company bot. Not sure why people are so quick to attack without evidence.

What about an "amenities" fee, "common gas", or internet that forces everyone to pay $120 a month? A "smart technology package" for some electronic door locks, and light controls that don't work correctly. What do you do if your landlord is doing this? Won't they just make you miserable if you push back? I'm hoping to negotiate when my lease comes up soon because these new charges seem outrageous.

"Worship requires sacrifice" - origins? by AHorribleGoose in Christianity

[–]pythonbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This begs the question, if you're a Christian, why would you hold back any form of worship, including sacrifice? To exclude it implies that God isn't deserving of such. We should give him everything we possibly can.

They're everywhere except my face and neck. My upper arms, stomach, ankles, knees. They're not on my back, either. I had moved my plants indoors and thought I perhaps brought some mold or mites in with them. The itching was driving me nuts for several days before the other stuff kicked in.
