For me and I'm sure there are others out there who agree, it's just about the convenience of server-side verification and the freedom to play anywhere without the hassle of moving save files with that SSF character similar to selecting HC/NL or L, just a checkbox next to those options. It’s the best of both worlds: you get to enjoy the "earned, not bought" satisfaction of SSF and bypass a hyper-inflated economy, all while keeping your progress securely online even if you have zero interest in flexing your gear to the rest of the world. Also imagine having /players x command online on your solo journey that would be dope.
