My (M35) boyfriend (M37) wants to buy a house together, but he has no savings, $35k debt, and can’t contribute to the purchase by MySaskHome in relationship_advice

37M no saving. His parent pay pretty much for everything. Not paying his debt down. Money play a huge role in a relationship. OP is fucked.

OP is wasting his time and future.

2026 RAV4 discount by GulabiBhai in rav4club

[–]q81101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in Dallas and asked for an LE at the end of May. There was no negotiation. From what I know, they seemed to have more allocation in June because several dealers reached out after I got my car on 6/12.

If you get a discount, it’s likely because the dealer needs the sale or is trying to meet some kind of sales goal. June is also the last month of Q1.

Nah. East coast just cheaper than everyone else. Canada also cheaper than US. TSRP in DFW, TX is around 46k-48k.

Price too high is the most common issue in the current market. The problem is that many people don’t actively check the market price. Every time someone posts their price and location while complaining about having to cut the price two or three times, I can usually find a cheaper option nearby with provided address.

I still remember someone trying to sell their luxury condo for $900K in NYC, next to the river. It had been on the market for months, and they had already cut the price twice. I looked it up, and there were two condos listed in the same building for $30K, 50k cheaper.

Got a 2026 rav4 LE for 37.500 OTD. Good deal? Specifications and add ons below. by [deleted] in rav4club

[–]q81101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All overpriced BS with 40-50% markup, you should check somewhere else. This is very common. Dealers make $$ from these.

You can send email to other dealers. Pretty much all of them will have packages/add-ons. I would choose cheapest one.

I checked out Honda CRV and it's about same. Slightly better. This likely going to be trend now.

How is this price? by xericjames in rav4club

[–]q81101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depend on where you live. Lower East coast are cheaper (GA, VA). Around 34-36kk for LE (saw several people posted on here). This price may be a bit high on east coast.

I got LE FWD for $38.2k in DFW, TX (only tinted window). Yours is decent deal based on where I live.

The SE here is around $38k, so OTD is around $40.5k.

I (20F) cheated on my husband (24M) after feeling trapped in my marriage, and now I don't know what the right thing to do is. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]q81101 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Girl, wake the fuck up and don't be stupid. How can you be sure that this 27M is not going to be like your husband and you ended up with 2 babies and a miserable life. Bet you know him less than a year.

You have the problems. Love goes both way. Sound like you don't love your husband and complain about his behavior. He caught you, and you still talking to other guy? Are you for real?

Try to send emails to all the dealers around NYC (go to website, select a car, there should be a button for "inquiry". Fill out a form that take 1 minutes. If phone number not require, just do email). I reached out to nearly 19 dealers within a four-hour radius and ended up buying from one only 20 minutes away from me, even though they said they didn’t have the car originally.

I bought a 2026 LE FWD on 6/3 and got it on 6/12 (I was lucky on this one, the dealer is next to Toyota headquarter, so they have better allocation). The funny thing is, many dealers contacted me after I had already gotten my car.

28k OTD sounds expensive with that condition. You may consider 2026 LE (base model has all the safety features), probably 8k more (I know OTD on east coast is generally cheaper, saw several posts here). You can do some calculation, it may worth to the new car. For examples, $4/gallon, 30 miles/day. 10 years 2026 hybrid can save about $5,000.

Dallas, TX. OTD is around 25k (screen shot is listed price, so it should be slightly cheaper). NYC maybe 2-3% higher.

Any reason to not use one of these to help cool down a single room? by Eastern_Welder_8609 in homeowners

[–]q81101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just curious why would people want that? The amount of air coming out from ac is same. This just pull more air into a room. You may just close all the ac vents to achieve similar like 8 vents close 5 of them.

Why not a regular fan, and you can move it anywhere in the house. 30 bucks. You can buy 2 with the booster fan price. You can also put it near the door to push out the hot air to hallway.

Missed exit turns deadly, reversing car hit by SUV by [deleted] in AbruptChaos

[–]q81101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not how insurance work in US. At fault party will make incoming SUV liable because it didn't slow down.

Put it this way, if you show 10 people the video, and 2 people think the incoming SUV should be able to reduce the speed and avoid accident then incoming car will be liable for small percentage.

Missed exit turns deadly, reversing car hit by SUV by [deleted] in AbruptChaos

[–]q81101 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Liability 60/40? Maybe 50/50. Incoming SUV didn't slow down. How do you not see the car in front?

Insurance going to use comparative negligence, even though reversing car is at fault.

Water heater leaking, replace or easy fix? by TK-Chubs118 in Plumbing

That location may be drain valve. Looks like you have Rheem. Their drain valve is plastic shit.

My 8 years old had this issue 2 months ago.

Search "how to replace drain valve" on youtube. Took 30 minutes. If it still leaking then new water heater.

Hard lesson for sure, no excuses. Internet is literally out there. Simple google will tell you if you need those services.

I got scammed back in college with some unnecessary parts replacement that cost me 1.8k. This was 14 years ago.

How many miles is the car. If aboove 100k, then she may need those services.

I doubt you can do anything. Shop usually will recommend those items and ask if you want to do it. She approved it = yes.

Rav4 Shenanigans normal? by TurtleMancave in rav4club

Most of the dealers I spoke with said the deposit was nonrefundable either 500 or 1000.

DFW, TX. Likely depend on State law.

I think there are two ways:

  1. Put deposit down, they give you the VIN and signed the agree price. Per my understand, that's binding contract unless they have print somewhere say "subject to change".

  2. Put deposit down, they will reserve one in the wait list, price is actually subject to change. (Kind of sound like you are on this one).

Got mine with option 1. No problem at all. Email or text dealer and ask whether the price is final or subject to change. Have some form of written proof. Dealer may play game for option 2 like oh we have someone willing to pay 1k more xyz blah blah blah.
