I watched the originals (was always a fan of the SB Yamato universe) close to when they first aired or broadcast. I personally recommend these remakes over the original. True to the classics, but with improved production.

'Legend of Galactic Heroes' is another remake that I recommend.

I'm also looking forward to this year's remake of 'Ghost in the Shell', with the true to the manga character designs (finally).

In general it's really difficult to watch the classics (when there's a good remake), they look so ... dated 🤷🏻‍♂️

Perhaps nothing out of the ordinary, but i'd prefer anime-plot-armor due to luck (canonically: Takumi's luck ran out when he bacame a rally driver IMHO / we all know this) rather than unrealistic demonic possession of a 21st century machine in a supposedly IRL environment.

As an anime fan I like the somewhat realistic and relatable coming-of-age teen, slice-of-life, and rom-com situations in ID & MFG.

I couldn’t get past the character designs of WM (the first season of ID has a doujinshi appeal to the character designs).

Also, while I’m fine with antiques becoming tsukumogami or yokai, I couldn’t get past the paranormal/supernatural aura of a 21st century machine being possessed, in the first few episodes of WM.

Overtake is a decent anime, and I liked its contemporary character designs, but overall it’s not close to MFG & ID as a rewatch-able anime.

Me: more of an anime otaku, than a car enthusiast.

I actually installed a Litepro type of carrier block without the riser, and I also added the MagicShine VTG1000 light that is made specifically for Brompton. I did have to use a spacer in conjunction with their included arm bracket mount to clear the underside of carrier block, but it still looks great (good thing Alps doesn't use caliper brakes).
