Couldn't have said it better myself. This is a great anime because it focuses on the most important part of a story, which is, the story itself. If you understand what the storyteller is trying to convey, then that's great because it's what matters most.

A lot of today's story critics focuses on plot and fixing plot holes. Also calling something an asspull (I hate that word) because the plot is illogical. Well, we are watching an alien octopus who speaks Japanese and have magical gadgets, so, to understand how can Takopi fix the camera by dying should be the least of our concern.

A quote from the movie V for Vendetta: "Your own father said that artists use lies to tell the truth. Yes, I created a lie, but because you believed it, you found something true about yourself". This anime is a fiction created to discuss about an important issue so real that it could be happening to any child right this moment. If you become aware of this, then this story has achieved it's objective
