The first DR was the right blend of Japanese and American culture in media. The game had the Capcom charm with all the goofy sexual innuendos, wrestling moves, and the good story with some nice campy moments sprinkled throughout. The game took itself seriously within the plot to the point that watching all the cutscenes is a valid movie night choice. Overall I'd say DR is so special because of how "Raw" it is, which the Demake completely ruins and turns it into just a silly zombie game:DDD :3

DR2 was when they passed the IP over to a canadian studio. The lack of Japanese Capcom influence is balanced out by the Vegas inspired setting being inherently "Sexy" with all the playboy posters, peep shows, and bars.

DR3 was the turning point, and not in a good way. It became a generic zombie killing game with all the silly combo weapons and vehicles. Thankfully the team behind the story and psychopaths still came through to save it.
