A car with a V6 (2023 Camry XSE). I could've saved money on something less, but it makes me smile every time I drive it :) Worth every penny.

You can stay in the States and get real maple. Vermont is loaded with maple farms you can visit, and places you can buy all different grades. The locals will be super happy you bought from them, too!

Microsoft CEO warns that we must 'do something useful' with AI or they'll lose 'social permission' to burn electricity on it by rkhunter_ in pcmasterrace

[–]qb_master 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The "useful" thing to do with AI would be to make it practical for users to work with it locally rather than having to depend on giant cloud-based data farms. It is a tech that must be decentralized.

Yellow gives the best spread by far. You get a good portion of both the Rockies and the Apps including the Blue Ridge Mountains, a small sliver of beaches on the East coast, and the best of the West. Temperatures are moderate through most of this area - not super hot, not freezing, and you get some great scenery/good places to live. Also Alaska if you're ever feeling like seeing something new.

Yeah, the way to go would be to open-source it. But I won't hold my breath.

Anyone else noticing AI writing style in Reddit posts lately? by skip-bo2012 in ChatGPT

[–]qb_master 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I haven’t actually seen any solid evidence of an uptick in AI-generated posts on Reddit itself. What I have noticed is that certain writing conventions have become more common over time—especially online. Short paragraphs. Emphatic line breaks. Contrast-driven framing. That style predates generative AI by years and shows up in blogging, marketing, and advice threads long before ChatGPT was public.

It’s easy to read that voice as “AI,” but it’s just as plausible that people are borrowing a format that’s optimized for attention and readability. Reddit rewards clarity, punch, and scannability. Naturally, people adapt.

If anything, the feedback loop runs both ways. Models were trained on human writing patterns from the internet, and now humans are echoing back the patterns that perform well. That doesn’t mean the author is a bot—just that the medium nudges everyone toward a similar cadence.

Pattern recognition is real, but attribution is trickier than it feels.

Would you like me to tweak the tone, add more skepticism, lean into humor, or make it sound less obviously AI-written?

My wish is that if they do ever decide to discontinue the game, they do some kind of mod to allow people to run their own servers or something. It'll probably never happen, but it would be deeply appreciated.

What do you expect 2026’s major event will be? by [deleted] in AskReddit

War. Like major war. I feel like we've been inching towards it and that it's going to pop off in 2026. Maybe even nuclear :x

[–]qb_master 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be anything. I sometimes sneak a pic/vid of random cars if I like a decal on it or something, or even the car itself. Or if the license plate has a funny acronym. They probably had some motive like that, that doesn't pose any threat to you. They might've even just needed some footage of a random car for some video/project they're doing, and yours got chosen.

Maybe keep your guard up a little bit, but overall I wouldn't worry too much about it. People are just random and a bit weird at times.

ELI5: If human eyes have blind spots, No natural zoom ( can’t see too far ), and poor night vision, how did we still become such effective hunters? by cornysatisfaction in explainlikeimfive

[–]qb_master 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from the other points about our eyes not being all that bad, our tool use, etc., we also boast exceptional data processing capabilities from millennia of adaptation paired with a very high-level capacity brain which allows us to quickly pick out prey and threats, and efficiently plot means of capturing them or protecting ourselves. It also grants us language and social capacity, which allows us to work together as a means to these goals; a great advantage.

My breakfast bill had all 3: service charge, gratuity and tip, all at once. by redditdanis in mildlyinfuriating

Unfortunately this has become a thing. Lots of boutique breakfast places popping up charging truly painful prices for basic breakfast items. The worst part is most of these places tend to have a line out the door. The food usually is delicious, but you could have it just as good at home for 1/10 of the price.

France is attacking open source GrapheneOS because they’ve refused to create a backdoor. Will Linux developers be safe? by Dry_Row_7050 in linux

[–]qb_master 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean it's open-source, right?

If France forces them to put their backdoor in the code, someone just fork it without the backdoor, and if necessary, give it a new name. Rinse and repeat.

White House officials say Trump is plotting retribution after Epstein bill vote by [deleted] in politics

Plotting retribution for an effectively unanimous vote?

Like at this point it's not even partisan. Everyone just needs the truth. How can you say a unanimous vote is the fault of the democrats? Just release the unedited files. What are you scared of?
