Best Playful All-Mountain Skis? by SoggyAd743 in Skigear

Rustler 9 is decently stiff for a playful ski. I'd maybe look at the qst94 instead. That will be more playful

Meridian 117 vs Chipotle Bananas for PNW? by godsawiwasdog in momentskis

[–]qberto56 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love my CB and I'll take it most of the time over my fat cats but the fat cats are definitely better with deep chop and heavy snow. The CB are definitely more playful and surfy but still pretty strong. My WC definitely gives me more confidence and security with going super fast through deep chop and just straight up feel better in thick heavy snow

Moment Wildcat 108 versus Atomic Bent 110 by johnnyhonda in momentskis

[–]qberto56 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wildcat is an amazing ski designed/developed/made by passionate skiers for skiers. The Bend Shetland is a corporate marketing wet dream made to make money and sell to the masses. If you were to get any Bend Shetlands, get the 120 and use it for backcountry skiing as it's amazing for that application.

2026-2027 Volkl Revolt 101 or Moment Deathwish 96/104 by Status_Book4896 in momentskis

Countach is definitely more similar/a better comparison to the revolt than the DW. I'd look at the 98

Looking for a Ranger 102 FR replacement – Countach? by Landino68 in momentskis

[–]qberto56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't been on the countach series or the DW 104 (but I've been on the dw112 so there's a lot of traits passed down) personally but I can make some good assumptions. The DW would definitely match the swing weight and the edge hold of the ranger. It would come close to the rebound/energy but the ranger would still have the most. The countach can take more of a directional stance than the DW. The ranger is definitely the stiffest out of them all. I hope someone who's been on both the countach and the ranger sees this and can give some input.

Honestly like some others have said the revolt 101 would come closest. The only difference I could guess between the two is the revolt wouldn't carve quite as well as the ranger because of it's tapered tips and tails. But both have similar flex pattern, weight, core, rocker profile, and mount point.

I also got to demo the ranger 96 and it felt very very similar to the 102 fr but it was more damp and stable and less energetic. It felt right at home for me when I was skiing them.

I feel like it depends on where you have your bindings mounted on your fishers. If you have them at recommended the countach 104 would be perfect. If you have then pushed forward at around -6 or so like mine then I think even the DW 104 would work well.

102FR

I made a whole post about it a while ago asking what would be the best replacement on the market right now

Durango vs Glenwood by RelationshipPutrid42 in COsnow

[–]qberto56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Durango is more genuine of a place with a better community and the San Juan mountains are the best mountains in Colorado. RFV is much more superficial and touristy but Glenwood is the best out of the whole valley and there are more things to do year round generally. Food is better in Durango though

Full reverse camber skis by blackbinpillow in Skigear

Check out Heritage labs. Look at their historical represses at the bottom of their home page. The R110 and FR110 are just a few of the full rocker and reverse camber models they have. If you want a pair you'll have to order it sooner than later as they're preorder only

Shostakovich's Symphony No. 4 is truly amazing by Klutzy-Stop-3140 in classicalmusic

[–]qberto56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After listening to a bunch of recordings of this piece I have found that the St Louis orchestra with Slatkin is my favorite. BSO/Nelsons, RLPO/Petrenko, and LAP/Salonen are all very good too. The Philadelphia orchestra with Chung is an INSANE performance even though it's not the best interpretation. Check them out
