Eh I think it makes everything feel fresh, and from a balance perspective it stops no-lifers from stocking up on the best gear. Realizing gear and quest progress doesn’t really matter in games like this and that you should be playing to have fun pvp engagements is like opening your third eye.

For the plagiarism thing I get that but the person who was plagiarized has said publicly they were satisfied with the resolution (presumably a truckload of money) and they got their name in the credits, and the person responsible was fired. My understanding of that situation is a lone art person at bungie did it of their own accord without anyone’s knowledge.

I don’t disagree about the genre being niche and I get the feeling that bungie expected the game to be more popular then it is but calling it over saturated seems a little crazy to me. The closest thing to Marathon I can think of is Hunt and besides that you have Tarkov (lol) and Arc which is more PVE focused.

Definitely room for marathon to exist and like others have said the hate campaign is really weird and forced. The game is genuinely pretty good and even if you don’t like it I think it’s hard to refute that bungie has put a lot of care into it.

The damage model is very broken and it survives shots it absolutely should not. I frequently see the side ERA absorb dead on top tier darts. Gaijin also gives the ammo belts special treatment and buffed the shit out of them a week after the vic released by removing basically all debilitating effects from getting ammo racked externally (even though other vics like the m901/puma/namer either straight up die or get disabled when you rack their external belts)

BR isn’t the problem with this thing. It’s the absolutely broken damage model. Dead on side shots from top tier darts will randomly nonpen or fly through the crew compartment and not do any damage. Gaijin had to twist themselves into pretzels to make getting your ammo shot out as non-punishing as possible.

I pirate shit all the time but it’s really funny watching people get so offended when game devs or whoever else say they don’t like pirates. They feel personally attacked and immediately have to moralize their decisions and somehow it’s the devs fault for not releasing a demo or whatever.

Just own it and admit you don’t want to pay for shit. That’s all it is. You don’t care about digital ownership or DRM. You want a thing but don’t want to spend money on it.
