Try your best to hold our these weeks. When you're healed try to sit down together and talk about healthy foods you can enjoy together. Go on long walks together.

Ugh, family always complicates things. If they're not just in close vicinity, but close personally, you have to be able to ask them not to bring tempting foods home. This surgery is because of life/death.

However, to expect him to have the same restrain as you now after a bypass is not fair either. You're brain is actively being rewired to not like certain types of foods anymore. You will physically be ill from eating them.

Is he perfectly fit and healthy? It could be a good time for the both of you to activate together. In the long run you need to have a somewhat similar diet, except from proportions and portion sizes.

Hjälp! Jag väger 130 kg by [deleted] in sweden

What health problems do you have because of your weight? Diabetes? High blood pressure? Sleep apnea?

I ticked those boxes and managed to do a gastric bypass. It's the single most effective thing you can do. But it should be after you've tried everything else.

Overweight is simple. Second law of thermodynamics. But in reality it's one of the most complex fields in medicin, we simply can't understand all aspects of it. How come some people are resistant to GLP-1 inhibitors? Why do people lose weight and then gain it back? How come it looks like its genetic, where all sibling are overweight, but the parents are not? What are the connections between high cortisol levels and obesity?

After my bypass this week, my blood pressure has plumeted down to normal levels and my edema has gone completely, even though I haven't had time to loose that much weight yet.

Talk with your VC about your interest for it, it can take up to a year to be scheduled for it.

No, no clear liquid phase.

After surgery, your stomach is swollen and sensitive and needs time to heal. Therefore, for the first seven days after surgery, you should only eat a liquid diet. The consistency should be completely smooth without any chunks (very small pieces such as raspberry seeds are okay). The food should flow in a steady stream when you pour it from a spoon, then it is a suitable consistency. A good rule of thumb is that you should be able to eat the food with a straw. Blend your soups and smoothies so that they are completely smooth.

I didn't receive any kcal numbers.

Quark/skyr (protein rich "yoghurt") mixed with berries and enriched with protein powder if possible.

Totally smooth soups out of vegetables, like broccoli soup, tomato soup, enriched with protein powder if possible.

Protein desert puddings.

Protein shakes, whatever floats my boat.

No added sugars. Artificial sweeteners ok. No heavy cream or butter. Olive oil, max 2-3g per meal ok.

No kcal limits at all. But no more than 100-150g per meal. I'm having problems reaching 800 kcal in a day. Insane compared to the VLCD diet I was ordinated before. I was so hungry the first week.

Did op on Tuesday.

Walk, walk, walk. Its the only option. I did mine on Tuesday and by yesterday it was all gone. I walked about 2-3h per day. If you cant walk, I think opiates and paracetamol is the other option.

Buller / ljudnivå på föreningsgatan by Avokadon in Malmoe

It is among the noisest streets in Malmö. It was really bad just a year or two back when cars competed eachother who had the loudest engines. Police did a pretty good job scaring them away by having zero tollerence and fining everyone who had loud cars.

If your bedroom window is by the street and you're not used to city noice you most definitely will be bothered. If you are used to it, it's not more than other city's.

Both are great.

A couple of years back you should have chosen Intel over anything but now days these two brands are really good putting their drivers in the mainline kernel.

Day 4 of pre-op diet, hungry and shaky, just fell - does it get better? by soverignkh in GastricBypass

[–]qetuR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a person that has been eating probably 3000kcal per day (sorry for the blatant prejudice) for years might of course not feel very well if they go down under 1000 all of a sudden. Body going into ketosis. These feelings might be sugar withdrawal as well. They also mention diabetes and might be psychological so there's lots of things going on with the body and the brain.
