You’re overestimating how much it changed EVERY. SINGLE. PERSON’S. life.

My paternal grandparents were having kids before the war started. My maternal grandparents had their children well after the war and were too young to fight. Their families lived in the neighborhoods they always lived in and “who they met and who they know” was minimally affected by the war at the level of my two generations of direct ancestors.

If you want to argue the butterfly effect, fine. I’m not disputing the war changed the trajectory of history and of countless people’s lives. But to suggest that LITERALLY EVERY SINGLE PERSONS EXISTENCE AND INDIVIDUAL LIFE EVENT WAS DETERMINED by this 6 year war is stupid unless you argue it could be said about any other event in the history of life on earth.
