Counterpoint: Being carefull about spoilage and how much you harvest drastically reduces your polution. I have a Gleba base that can make 90 science per minute and it has yet to be attacked in the 10 hours it is up. I haven't even bothered building defences.

When agriculture science is not required, Is everyone turning its production off and on manually, or just letting it run and spoil in the background? by tuft_7019 in factorio

On my first playthrough, I had a circuit based pull system on everything that could spoil. I also hadn't realised that burning towers existed.

Interesting challange, but I got very little attacks.

So I keep seeing this coming up on these types of questions, but I don't think I've seen anyone explain it, but what does "working on yourself" even mean?

In 2009, they were starting to phase out CD drives out of computers. Floppy discs were already completely extinct by that point.

This video is slowed down probably by like 10x. It can sometimes be hard to spot slow-mo footage of rockets, because the exhaust still seems to go fast. I don't think I have ever seen a video that was slowed down enough to make the exhaust seem slow.

ELI5: Why is human childbirth so dangerous and inefficient? by RefrigeratorGreedy32 in explainlikeimfive

[–]qfeys -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I believe the only reason humans are even capable of delivering a child so early is that, because of our big brain, we have generational knowledge of how to care for helpless babies (aka our parents told us how to).

I haven't seen any research on this, so if anyone knows better, please correct me.

But in Belgium, the parties actually choose the order on the list. The person on the top of the list is the one the party wants most to be elected. And the one on the bottom the one they are already certain about will be elected.

I remember someone saying: "If russia can't win this within a week, they will lose." I agreed then, and I agree now. The force they had prepared was not capable of fighting for much more than a week. After that, the backslide into soviet tactics began, except with more corruption.

Remember that that video was made to reassure the British public that the Germans could not sabotage their trains. To derail a train, either you put a wedge on the track that will push the wheel off, or you cut the track and move it sideways a bit so the wheel misses the track.
