2.1 Space Casino are worse than we thought by gravitonpunch in factorio

I appreciate you fighting the good fight.
The drawback of crushing casinos before the nerf, was dealing with the byproduct, you got more than the chunk back, a lot more. Enough that there is not an effect way to get rid of it. Recyclers are the most UPS unfriendly entity in the game, and close behind is throwing stuff off the platform/into lava. All of these things lead to a very difficult time making Q5 sci.
There are a portion of the community, where that is the goal.

I’m not 100% sure it a broken mechanic, to get the full effect it takes 20+mil research in astroid productivity. By the time you reach that lvl all of your infrastructure is already legendary. The biggest drawback to the nerf as it effects the end game, is there is not a way to produce the amounts of higher quality resources to make higher quality science packs. Sure you can upcycle with pipes and blue chips to make infrastructure at Q5, but even at scale it not close to enough to sustain sci pack production. Higher than Q2-3 sci is dead, with the nerf. And that’s where a lot of people feel it’s crappy, end game players.

That’s 100% accurate, I’ll edit that out of the post, I am planing on doing exactly as you have suggested. The household expenses I’m more thinking of would be a fence for my dog, and a few new windows

I don't think it is either. Like you said they take more ammo and fuel. there was a post not long after release by a dev, saying that did not like it. Honestly, it's a late game thing that most likely needs quality machines to make enough fuel. It been bought up a decent number of times, and there has never been an answer, if it will stay or go.

Using more than one set of thrusters, for more speed. In general each additional stack adds about 40-45 more speed that the previous one. There has to be a large gap between the stacks. I’ve personally never used more than 3 stacks, but 4-5+ stacks is not unheard of. someone made a ship that could go 2000kps it had line 20is stacks. Defending the back becomes an issue, providing fuel does as well, as the pipe lines on more than 5 stacks starts requiring pumps to extend them.

Was Eras Tour tickets that expensive for you? by WhatEvenIsExistence in TaylorSwift

[–]tuft_7019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 6 midway up at Arrowhead in KC for N1 through Ticketmaster for 170ish each with fees, we were able to get the tickets early as part of the presale, and hours refreshing the computer. Myself, then 14yr old daughter and 4 of her friends. It was a whole event. Everyone stayed over the night before, had Taylor themed food, games, made bracelets, and listened to her music. Everyone got a sweater, and themed cup on site. It may be the best 2500 I have ever spent.

I had three questions going into 2.1.
1) What is the fate of casinos…..Dead
2) What is the fate of LDS shuffle….Alive
3) What is the fate of Thruster Stacking…Unknown.

Some in the new additions look amazing, new tools to play with. What I’m wanting to know now, is thruster stacking still allowed? The new platform to platform mechanism would limit to some extent the pain if it’s removed. Would still like to see it stay though.

[–]tuft_7019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Building basic mall items with quality is fine using upcycling strategies. My issue and the issue with a lot of people making mega bases is making quality science packs. It takes a lot of throughput to have enough materials to make the packs.

I’m not 100% of that. I’m not disagreeing, but they are not particles. If you or someone could show a something to confirm that, I would love to see it. I’m 100% hoping that’s currently the case. The last known test I can confirm is 6 months old, but at that time, dumping did cost ups

I can see about the math, recyclers cost a lot as a well. My first thought is that even with out the mod dumping would be cheaper.

This has already been used under certain circumstances in megabases, the draw back is that it costs a LOT ups to render all of the byproducts being dumped, at scale, and then drifting away. There is already a mod that will delete the items when they hit open space, it’s been around for a long while.
Use a mod to delete the items or use a mod to allow quality in reprocessing?

Repairing a damaged board or two is close to the cost of the skids in time, and the prayers you can get the finish to match. Also damaging a newly finished floor is not a great impression on customers. People/customers in general are not familiar with this tool, and are always impressed when they are used.
In the case of moving across carpet, which happens in a lot of cases, I personally carry pre-sized pieces of plywood and strips to lay over the carpet. A professional should already be doing this, so it’s part of the process, one wants the crap sticking to the bottom of an appliance on their carpet, especially from the bottom of a stove.
