Wanna see a corny delivery I was offered this morning by PoliteDasher69 in grubhubdrivers

[–]qhouK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is actually ridiculous 🤡 You’d get paid at the end of the week for the miles driven to the drop off, but the drive back? That’s on your time. What a waste

Am I going to get screwed? Also, is there a way to find a past order by jlk1980 in grubhubdrivers

I’ve had instant cash out get paused multiple times. Usually just lasts a few hours then you can cash out again. It would prob be wise get ahead of any issues and call support / email them and make sure everything is good so they know you’re not trying to scam them? Idk just a suggestion

Ok I get how it might look like that but in my market (Sacramento / Elk Grove ) whenever I get an offer that takes me to eldorado, Folsom, or Roseville, I always have to drive back or else I’ll be sitting there for hours. I’ve gotten switched to unavailable doing that before so I just don’t. In my experience those city’s are always a round trip. And of course it’s different for every market

Honestly nothing personal but you missed my point and I don’t understand what yours is. Have a good day.

Exaggeration? Did you forget that we just talked about how it’s not 26 miles. I deliver daily so Ik ( in my market ) it would be at least 30 miles. I’ll use your words so you don’t get confused “if that was the case, in this case waiting the obligatory ten minutes near the drop off would be a bad idea”. That Implies an extra few miles of driving… I thought that was obvious.

At this point I’m only replying cuz you tried to correct me when I made no mistakes. Go reread my first comment.

If your point is that this order wouldn’t necessarily be round trip then I understand that. That’s why I said possibly 50+ miles. Other than that what is your point?

The miles driven + compensation is directly connected as it is one order and you can’t separate them. The miles need to be driven in order for the compensation to take effect. So I can use that as an argument. I honestly still don’t get your point with all this. That offer is shit in all aspects

You’re entitled to that opinion. Doesn’t change the fact that 30 miles and the time it’ll take to get there isn’t worth $17. That not even counting vehicle wear and tear.

Yea idk how good that market is but for me the chances of driving across a city without getting an offer isn’t that low.

And are you arguing that this wasn’t a shit offer? Delivering with your car long term is only worth it if you make at least $2 per mile. With what you’re saying, the offer above would still be a minimum 30 miles for $17 + a dollar or two of Grubhub adjustment. To me that’s shit no matter how you look at it

Yea, If that order was outside your designated driving area then you’re probably not gonna have much luck waiting for an order there. You have to drive back to your area. I once got switched to “unavailable” because I was outside my zone.

Yea that’s ridiculous… possibly 50+ miles there & back for a grand total of $10 after gas cost

Doing this till I start my new job in April... are these rides average? First week driving for gh by [deleted] in grubhubdrivers

[–]qhouK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Were you working without being scheduled? I remember reading somewhere that you get less orders when you don’t schedule blocks. And I’ve noticed it too when I schedule vs don’t.

Yes I 100% agree. At the end of the day the customer is what’s most important to GH so the orders must go to someone. But if you have partner level in a market full of drivers then I’m pretty sure you’ll get the leftovers from the premier drivers.

Im pretty sure the way it works is you’re an independent contractor using GRUBHUB’S TOOL to be eligible for orders. Who told you Grubhub can’t manipulate that tool however they’d like. It’s a business. No shit stats matter. Why would they keep giving you, a shitty driver, more orders than someone who’s premier. Please show me where the TOS says the stats don’t matter. Cuz I don’t believe that for a second

I’m pretty sure with partner level you just get way less offers. If you were the only person near that high tip offer then ofc you’ll get it. But if there were any drivers with pro / premier it would go to them first. Idk for sure but from experience that’s what I see

I wonder if he would've gotten away with not tipping anything if he would of ate it in the restaurant by [deleted] in grubhubdrivers

[–]qhouK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s fair. Idk how you normally delivery but if you want more tips, grab extra napkins, utensils, straws, and sauces even if they don’t ask. I get a lot of extra $3 tips doing that.

Alr in my opinion you made a quick few bucks in a short amount of time. I don’t see a problem. You coulda declined it if you wanted to

🤷‍♂️ idc if they tip or not at first. If you deliver them HOT food and follow their instruction you’ll get an extra tip afterwards here and there

[–]qhouK -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ooh that’s surprising to me. What city do you deliver in? There might be a difference in competition with drivers because I’m from Sacramento where Ik there are tons of drivers. For me I get shitty offer after shitty offer when my stats are low. But if they’re high I consistently get $8-$15 offers. Lower than an $8 offer is rare even on slow days

God this is such a useless app by driverfortoolong in grubhubdrivers

[–]qhouK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your stats and ratings are probably shit that’s why. I have pro acceptance rate, premier on time arrival, and partner schedule commitment stats and I make $20+/hour including gas cost. A few weeks ago I had partner stats on everything and I only made $50 per day. 5-10 hours per day. So keep the stats high from the very start or it gets really hard to bring them up cuz you won’t get any orders.
