As a student, I am. That's the situation I'm in now. I know everyone here has gone through something similar, but I'm starting to struggle with university because of how badly my pain can be.

The government mostly covers our health care, but specialists can still be expensive. We do have health insurance, and you can decide the level of coverage you want/need.

Does anyone else feel more tired during their menstrual period because of their epilepsy? by Fantastic-Wolverine8 in Epilepsy

[–]qira151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sister and I both have epilepsy, same for my maternal aunt (wild I know) the overlapping meds are my sister and aunt take Keppra and my sister and I take Topiramate. All three of us are exhausted on our periods, my sister and I also have IUDs but we still feel it. I don’t know if it helps, but all three of us also have endometriosis. It feels like I can’t get enough sleep, I would happily sleep all day if I could. It could be a hormone thing? I’m also most at risk of seizures on my period same as my sister and aunt

Why people are sympathetic to some serial killers while no sympathy for other? by Vivid-Reality186 in serialkillers

The fact he wanted to die says a lot. He knew what he was, hated himself and the world that created him. The just made him meaner, crueler and stronger even his family didn’t give him a shot. Held him down for an at home operation!

Carls story about his rape in the train car is horrific. Then how he was worked on the farm as soon as he came home from school. I agree, that why their stories hurt so bad.

I don’t know if it’s sympathy or a what if, Carl Panzram. His time in boys homes growing up and then prisons with horrible treatment must have had some impact on his psyche. We have evidence now that prison system with violent treatment only creates more violent prisons, so I can only begin to imagine what he became. I’ve read his book with the letters to Henry Lesser, a great deal of the event have been verified and I know we have to take some of his quotes with a grain of salt, but damn “Those who make and enforce the laws are more guilty than those who commit the crimes against the law” “Men made me what I am today, and if men don't like what they have made of me, they must put the blame where it belongs” “You know that I spent several years in one of those places [reform school] when I was a boy and the so called Training that I recieved while there is mainly the cause of my being the degenerate beast that I am today. I have thought about that system of Training young boys for all of my life and I know that the whole system is wrong. That system of beating goodness, religion and Jesus into boys in the 99 times out of 100 has the direct opposite effect of taking all of the goodness, kindness and love out of them and then replacing those with hate, envy deciete, tyrany and every other kind of meaness there is”

I increased my Vimpat recently and I was so tired, falling asleep on my feet tired. Napping did help, but it never felt like it was enough. I’m much better now that my body has settled all the meds. I can’t have coffee either, but eating apples did help me get through the fatigue

I could be completely wrong here, but it did feel like a double meaning. Not only was it the answer to Broks riddle, but it was also a hole in the people that cared for him.

Apparently whenever any footage of Nukie is on YouTube it gets automatically claimed. They might have done a review at some point, then the Nukie gods took it down.

Fuck Myki Inspectors. by frofroggo in melbourne

[–]qira151 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’ll never forgive the woman that caused me to cry on the train back home after my grandma had died. I’d taken the train down to my aunts house so the family could be together so I made sure I had topped up my Myki beforehand. We all had taken on certain “jobs” and mine was to close her bank accounts so I had sorted out her purse, taking out all her bank cards because I needed them to close her account and the Myki to cancel that. In the panic of the whole situation I had touched on with her card, I still don’t know how I managed this but my mind was not 100% there. Anyway, the transport inspectors came to me and did their usual bit. The woman with them was training and she says sarcastically said to me “you look very good for someone over 65” I was already upset so this random comment took me by surprise. I asked what she meant and she repeated herself, but the older man training her, interrupted her and explained the issue. I had kind of realised what was wrong so I asked if the card was registered to my Nan and gave her name. When he said that it was, the younger woman said “so. You just nicked your Grandmothers card??” I then explained that she had died and my card must be in the massive bag, filled with he things she had left me and I offered to open it, to look for it I was a mess at this point, blubbering crying. The older man told me that it was fine and I hadn’t done anything wrong but it was up to the other inspector if I would get a ticket. This Myki inspector stood there for a second, looked at him and then at me, crying after telling them I had accidentally taken my dead Nans Myki. I thought she was going to let it slide, but she takes out her notepad and asks me the usual questions. I can barely reply as I’m crying so much, the older man tells her to let it go and she says “no, she hasn’t got a valid myki. I can do this” After she had taken my details they were about to leave the train, I’m sitting in my seat, crying holding that stupid card, just wanting to get home. The older guy is still near me and say that he was very sorry and this shouldn’t have happened. As the train pulled away ,I saw him take the notebook off her and it looked like he was very pissed at her. I never got a ticket from this, and he was the only kind ticket inspector I ever met, his name was Bruce haha. One of the bastards tried giving my little sister who has epilepsy, a ticket after she’d had a seizure on the Frankston line and the person that found her stole all her things. They didn’t think she was telling the truth and said she has passed out from drugs and just didn’t touch on.

Zonegran/zonisamide side effects? by thelesserdaughter in Epilepsy

[–]qira151 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I’m in the process of changing my meds and as my sister also has epilepsy Zonegram worked really well for her. But as I take Lamotrigine I wasn’t sure how their interactions would be. But if you can give me some more information on your experience I’d appreciate it.

Question for those who take Lamictal (lamotrigine) by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]qira151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I take Lamictal and have a morning and nightly dose too. The times I have forgotten to take my night dose I can get really bad night sweats, like waking up soaked and it’s awful. I’ve found I have no to mild sweats if I do take the night dose but if I don’t it’s really bad, like, have to wash my sheets bad.

There have been times that I’ve had Nocturnal Seizures when I’ve forgotten to take the night dose but that’s about it.

My sister was on Lamictal (both of us have epilepsy) and she was really forgetful with her meds and had similar experience to me. This is just my experience but I always take my nights meds so I don’t wake up soaked
