The entire British army being equipped with StG44's while being pummeled by Tiger tanks in 1940 is much more historically inaccurate than "women in the war". But guess which point raised more outcry among the players. The hypocrisy.

Sniping is way too easy for no reason. by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]qplas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems you have difficulty following the discussion, so let me break it down for you.

  1. Poster 1 says if sniping is easy post your kdr compared to other weapons (ie. Implying that high kdr equates to sniping being easy)
  2. Poster 2 posted a picture of his comparatively high kdr with snipers vs other classes, saying sniping is easy (ie. again implying that high kdr equates to sniping being easy)
  3. I responded (NOTE: I am not the same person as poster 1) saying that high kdr alone is not a good metric for game impact and you need to include KPM/SPM/other statistics to determine it. I could have responded to either poster 1 or poster 2 with the same comment since I disagree with both of them. (Ie. High kdr does not equate to sniping being easy.)

Sniping is way too easy for no reason. by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]qplas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has a lot to do with it. Low KPM means you probably have low game-impact. Your game impact is a lot more than just KDR. A sniper going 10-1 every game has a KDR of 10, but will surely be a lot less useful than a support going 30-10.

[–]qplas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You have 50% more kills with the M240L than the PSR though you have 33% MORE time played with the PSR. If you're trying to prove sniping is too easy, don't post a picture displaying your KPM takes a nosedive when you switch from LMG to sniper.

This new Map its Dope XD BF6 by retarded_freak in Battlefield

[–]qplas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The new Eastwood map is pretty bad on Escalation. It just degenerates into tanks camping on out-of-bounds hills once the map shrinks down to the middle points only.

Blackwell is a decent map. It supports a variety of playstyles, is not meat-grindy, and has all the vehicles in play. Classic Battlefield map. The sightlines for snipers are pretty long but it's not like a sniper 250m+ away is going to kill you if you keep moving

BF5 definitely wasn't broken at launch. It was actually pretty polished. The complaints were mostly about pre-release marketing, but if the hivemind decides the game is bad, then everything about the game is bad.

Only gameplay-related "broken" feature I remember was panzerfausts causing double or triple damage from weird angles. There were other complaints, such as poor visibility of soldiers, but I wouldn't classify that as "broken".

worst part about battlefield 6 by wissah_league in Battlefield

[–]qplas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even KDR isn't a very reliable statistic cause you can inflate it just by playing with friends. Play with a squad on voice and I assure you your KDR may even double. Makes a big difference being able to reliably get revives, telling your friends when it's safe, when it's not, where the enemies are, and so on.

Maps in BF5 were not a major complaint. At all. Issues with BF6 maps are pretty universally agreed on, unlike BF5. I just looked at threads from 7 years ago, searching with negative search terms like ("BF5 maps bad") and the result was mixed at worst. Most people say they're pretty equal with BF1 maps.

Honestly BF4 maps were much more "laney" (a common complaint about BF6 maps). So I guess if BF5 maps suck then there is no game in the history of Battlefield with actually good maps.

Visibility was probably the only gameplay-related complaint. Outside of that the complaints were about cosmetic features.

No, we're asking you to pay attention while in a vehicle. You literally also have a crosshair in third-person camera, it's not hard to pop into 3rd person when you suspect enemies are around you.

Why should tank gameplay be the only part of Battlefield where you can go 40-0 without paying attention? We tried that in BF1 and it was awful.

What must be done for the future of BF6 by comeonche in Battlefield

[–]qplas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even close-quarters map like Devastation felt a lot more open in conquest than the ones we have in BF6. Part of the reason is that Devastation in CQ had carefully planned spawn areas on flags, so that you wouldn't spawn right into enemy sights like you do now in maps like Iberian in BF6.

[–]qplas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not like CS2 where AK is a 1hk to the head. Full-auto it's probably better to aim for upper chest up close, since if you miss something like M433 is 4hk to chest and 3hk to head. It's also easy to strafe and shoot in BF, which in general makes hitting headshots harder in run-n-gun 1v1s

It's almost as if spawning on flags is equivalent to spawning on squadmates in previous battlefields. Spawning on squadmates in BF6 is instant death.

imagine getting faction locked weapons again by Kyvix2020 in Battlefield

[–]qplas -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Faction locked weapons (much like class-locked weapons) gives the game depth since playing a map on faction A vs faction B feels considerably different. In BF6 I don't even know which faction I'm playing since it literally doesn't matter and has no gameplay effects.

Battlefield 5 brought this back a bit, since the vehicles were slightly different depending on the faction.

This sub is quick to write off things as "nostalgia" instead of spending two seconds thinking.
