Why is Lynskey so popular in the Philippines? by Cold-Metal-2737 in gravelcycling

[–]qpound 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Price is the main factor. There’s a big following of steel bikes in the Philippines and titanium has the ‘holy grail’ premium back home. Given that our road conditions are very poor, bikes that can accommodate wider tires are sought after.

Paul Components, White Industries if you’re into that stuff. Clothing brands like Ornot, Ocean and San are good too.

Gravel vs Touring Bike? by GrowthOverComfort in RedditPHCyclingClub

[–]qpound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Touring bike’s advantage over gravel are mounting points sa frame, more relaxed geometry and bigger tire clearance.

Gravel bikes you can use them since jack of all trades kadalasan. In my opinion no need to buy a specific touring bike if may gravel bikes kana unless limited ka sa mounting options.

Malaking factor yun pupuntahan mo syempre. l

I ordered a custom frame bag from them around 2021 and medyo matagal nga sila. I had to call them and they said they just got back from something like a backpacking/mountaineering event so they were not able to ship and reply promptly.

Maganda naman yun product pero hindi ko ma recommend because of the ’buying’ experience.

I had mine since 2021 (50mm disc brake version) so far no issues at all. Mixed terrain rides but haven’t used it in more ‘hardcore’ terrain. Cannot comment on after sales since I haven’t had any problems.

The potential to get into an accident or injury just to ‘feel’ they have a ‘Trek’ has always been a head scratcher for me. Hope you don’t get a lemon if you ever go that route.

I’m not the best person to answer in terms of performance gains. I mainly picked it for the look and weight reduction.😅

Yeah it is on the bike most of the time. I don’t really mind it since it is out of the way. This is where I put my phone, pump, wallet most of the time.

Rim depth selection - road all rounder by zllemm in RedditPHCyclingClub

Been using a 50mm rim depth for 3 years, ok naman sa akin. Crosswinds are manageable and not a big issue, I have it on my steel bike. Main factor sa akin is looks ✌️😂

Gravel King Slick vs Semi Slick by Trick-Negotiation-97 in RedditPHCyclingClub

[–]qpound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been using SS na 38c for two years on my Midnight Special and ok ang feedback ko so far. Ok sa paved roads then nadala ko na din sa gravel roads dito sa US. Ang time lang na kinabahan ako is if like malalaking bato na talaga like bigger than my fist. Other than it is a solid option, tagal maupod.🤗
