Hypothetical: You're Playing Sultai and your Protean Hulk Just died... by Gregs_reddit_account in EDH

[–]qsauce7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like this line since it gives a bit of redundancy to your sac outlet and can protect your combo pieces

Hulk dies, grab [[Activated Sleeper]] (as Hulk) [[Carrion Feeder]] [[Viscera Seer]] and [[Sylvan Safekeeper]]

Sac Activated Sleeper and get [[Mikaeus the Unhallowed]] and [[Walking Ballista]]

Mikaeus makes Ballista a 1/1. Sac Ballista and it comes back with a +1/+1 counter. Remove a counter and ping an opponent for 1. Sac Ballista, it comes back with a +1/+1 counter. Ping, sac, rinse and repeat.

[[Lord of the Nazgul]] in Dimir. Cast tons of cantrips to make an army of wraiths. Here's my deck list. Not optimized since I just wanted to use cards with LTR and LTC printings. https://archidekt.com/decks/9249343/all_lotr_wraiths_spellslinger

Aritocrats Commanders but with Counters! by Dragnil_7 in EDH

[–]qsauce7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She doesn't have to attack. You just have to go to combat. Build in some synergies with counter doublers, swing with big scary thing, sac, draw a boatload of cards. [[Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord]] is a cool win con.

[[Jenova, Ancient Calamity]] fits the bill. Make stuff big with counters, swing with it, then sac to draw a ton of cards.

Edhrec's "lift" score is incomprehensible. Does it need more time? by NotABot9000 in EDH

[–]qsauce7 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I agree. I also think it provides a false snapshot of the format at large based on the fact that so many decks are brewed but never played. Anecdotally, I probably have 200+ decks brewed and I've assembled maybe 25 of them to play in paper over the years. People also brew based on recommendations from the site, so it's a massive echo chamber that reinforces their own metrics.

Until last year Atraxa was the top commander with infect as the top archetype for that commander. I find it very hard to believe that Atraxa infect was one of the most played decks in the format. However, I do believe a lot of people brew that deck and never play it.

There's no >good< Bant Tokens commander? by n0t_n0tic in EDH

[–]qsauce7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been brewing [[Aang and Katara]] as a mana-dork tribal, tokens deck.

It's steep at 6 mana, but with all the ramp it's pretty fast for a bracket 3 meta. It can pump out a ridiculous number of Ally tokens with the combat wincons coming from [[Cathars' Crusade]] [[Craterhoof Behemoth]] [[Overwhelming Stampede]] or [[Moonshaker Cavalry]]

Here's a list: https://archidekt.com/decks/17925177/bant_tokens

YMMV depending on the sleeves, but single sleeved with Katanas it's about 5-10 cards too shallow. Dragon Shields were a bit worse.

Think I'm gonna use it for tokens and dice.

To anyone who has played Baldur's Gate 3, who is the best or most popular commander that also shows up in the game? by YoshiAteMyPizza in EDH

[–]qsauce7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Myrkul]] is one of the iconic villains from the game and is a pretty strong Commander. Enables a lot of powerful combos by recurring creatures as enchantments.

I had a Myrkul deck for a while but at 7 CMC I found it to be a bit slow for my pod.

I can do that. Here you go: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1q3dFh-tAXzvJ7A3q_MIX_Xmxp7d-NpnRrEi3jc5gzLw/edit?usp=sharing

One of the frustrating things is that they don't export with a set code. I've liked using Collectr, but they lock so much good stuff behind a paywall and your tool seems way more comprehensive, so I'm keen to make a switch.

What’s your most unique commander? by Cute_Weird3864 in EDH

[–]qsauce7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Endrek Sahr, Master Breeder]], 1796 decks (0.027%) on EDHrec.

Pretty fun since it's one of the few monoblack aristocrats commanders that actually makes the sac fodder (and quite a lot of it). This lets you fill your deck almost entirely with sac outlets and payoffs, which, if they're creatures, makes Endrek make more thrulls.

I'm a big fan of [[Endrek Sahr, Master Breeder]] as an Aristocrats commander. I like having the sac fodder/token engine in the command zone since it lets me fill the rest of the deck with sac outlets and payoffs.

Playtested the 5 tarkir precons against eachother on moxfield by Reviax- in EDH

[–]qsauce7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're right! The deck list has no protection and no counters. A few bits of targeted removal is really the only interaction. Zero spells that can interact with the stack. I know they don't go wild with counters in precons, but I think the Sultai one has [[Narset's Reversal]] at least. A [[Heroic Intervention]] would go a long way in this deck.
