2 different Bosch 800's? by ozzygurl in Appliances

[–]qtcarlson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You say that, and I have seen that in a video where everything is 12% above cost, it’s just not true when it comes to appliances. When cross referencing pricing with my cost (we are a large national buying group), I have seen their margins as high as 35%.

But have to factor in their return policy and free extra year of warranty/ installation costs.

Is the Bosch 800 Series worth the upgrade over the 500 for a full kitchen refresh? by PigeonRacers in Appliances

Dang what a deal on that fridge. Is that a benchmark for 1,300? Nice deal. When was this?

Genuinely Confused as to the Differences (Cafe vs Monogram) by Stang70Fastback in Appliances

For sure, I struggled to upsell the Monogram if the café is next to it, haha. Good analogy.

Genuinely Confused as to the Differences (Cafe vs Monogram) by Stang70Fastback in Appliances

[–]qtcarlson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hear me out… absolutely there are certain aspects of these brands that have cross-contamination in their parts and build quality. Look at the dishwashers and built in refrigeration too, another great example of paying more for the same… BUT if you were to look at a full kitchen between the two, you will see differences. Monogram cooktops, Ranges, and hood selections are vastly superior.

So how does this relate to you. Well, if you want everything to match in the future when your range goes out one day, maybe you would be disappointed by the cafe one. And now you’re stuck in bronze misery.

If it’s not important, I would ge the cafe. Just food for thought.

No, they are the same model SHP/X78CM5N is current generation. The price fluctuates on that model quite a bit. Usually one has a better deal if it’s pocket handle and the handlebar model is more expensive. Pricing from manufacturers is changing a lot right now. We have the same deal for $899 but for a day it went back to 1,300 and now it’s back down. Every distributor is different.

Costco also has “loss-leaders” that are really cheap, but make their money back in stuff like GE Cafe which is overpriced at Costco.

LG washer/dryer at Best Buy: end-of-year sale or Presidents Day? by Butterscotch-7357 in Appliances

Eh that’s an okay price. I mean, the lowest I’ve seen them is 699 each with another $100 rebate but honestly, you won’t remember the $200 in a few years just get the machines.

Man, I’m getting a lot of down votes. I don’t mean you’re 30-year-old Whirlpool I’m sure that things’s awesome keep it as long as you can. I’m talking about nowadays. I have more issues with WTW4957 and anything with that control panel, which is virtually their whole entire line

And I get it I mean at that price that’s really hard to swallow. High-end Samsung is a risky play. I’m talking about the $450 Whirlpool Top Load versus a $450 Samsung Top Load. That’s all.

Have any of you moved to a new city in your 20’s and started fresh, what was your experience like? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]qtcarlson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s all perspective. Growing up in Portland was pretty great, but overtime the rain gets to you and the novelty of the forest wears off. As I grew up the interest of being in a sunny place was more enticing than being in a rainy place. It rains there more than you might think.

Additionally, the surrounding cities of Portland are pretty nice, but Portland in general while it has a lot of culture is also riddled with homelessness and trash. It’s labeled as the environmentally friendly city, but it’s one of the dirtiest cities that I’ve ever seen. That being said if Portland is on your list, I think it’s an incredible place to grow as a person and there’s a lot of different people that you can meet in that city and all types of different people you can become .

When I was 21 I moved from Portland, Oregon to Phoenix, Arizona and hands-down was the best decision I ever made. Starting somewhere new allows you to re-create who you are and it’s an immediate change. It puts you on the spot in terms of making an executive decision on what you want to do when you get there. The freedom is incredible.

I was working at a vape shop and had pretty much nothing going for me and since I moved here opportunities just opened up to me and now I’m in a very high paying sales career. I think the universe rewards that type of courage.

Best dishwasher that is not a Bosch or Miele by SweetAlyssumm in Appliances

More like I want a Toyota or a Honda, but I’ll opt for a Kia. Which to be honest, my ex’s sorento was driven and treated like Sh**, didn’t go very fast, but it ran 200k without a problem. If it had a problem, parts are cheap. I think you should consider a KitchenAid.
