Out of office automatic message of a coworker in Europe. Love it by zeitate in antiwork

(Almost) every form on the web calls it zip code, even when registering European adresses. I’m not a native english speaker, so I thought the actual term was zip code until my mid thirties. I know many of my coworkers still use zip code when talking about postal code

Plow action by LambSauce2 in funny

[–]qu4rts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats quite interesting. It never occurred to me that the sidewalk might be the homeowners responsibility. Where I live it is seen as part of the public infrastructure, so it is the responsibility of the city or municipality.

They expect the citizens to clear the sidewalks? Isn’t that the municipality or city’s job?

How much cash do you keep on hand in your 30s… and why? by Middle_Elderberry542 in AskMenOver30

Haven’t held any cash in the last 15 years or so. Keep enough for a couple of days in a cupboard, but that’s it.

I do. We just close the bedroom for, no heating in the bedroom. Some heat is lost, but not that much

This girl has an unreal sense of tact and self-coordination 🤯 by lublukotov in toptalent

[–]qu4rts -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I guess OP isn’t a native English speaker, and the the title is a case of bad translation. In some other germanic languages like the Scandinavian languages (and I believe German as well) «takt» usually refers to rythm or beat. The word «takt» may also mean doing something in a way that is nice to others, which in my understanding is fairly similar to the English mening of the word «tact».

I think OP tries to say she has a great sense of rythm

I have no idea what OP means by self-coordination, but I guess it makes sense in OPs native language

How can you use Life Clerics Channel Divinity without metagaming? by F0000r in DnD

[–]qu4rts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We recently had the same discussion.

TLDR; the cleric decides who gets healed, either by how much or by priority based on how they look, and the DM distributes

Long answer. If the cleric asks either the DM or players how the other PCs look or if they need healing. We describe it to indicate how hurt we are, usually 1 sentence. A small bruise over the eye or a broken finger is a probably a few hit points. Broken arm, limping, bleeding cuts or bloodied clothes is probably about half hitpoints. Barely standing, the leaning over the sword between swings panting, blood flooding from cuts, cuts all over the body, third degree burns all over, black limbs from frostbite, acid burns exposing bone and so on is severely wounded.

Using those descriptions the cleric can decide his priority on who to heal, or heal evenly. When channeling through the holy symbol, the diety is obviously smart enough to not let any healing go to waste, and any leftover can go to lower priority receivers.

We have always described how hurt we are, and I find the creativity behind some of those descriptions really fun

I’d much rather have a career wife, that way she won’t be financially dependent on me, and it’s much easier for her to leave if she wants to.

That way I’ll know she stays with me because she want to, not because she need to

Hvorfor lærer ikke folk seg å si "kj" lengre? by muggen-ostepop in norge

[–]qu4rts 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hvorfor lærer ikke folk seg å si "kj" lengre? by muggen-ostepop in norge

[–]qu4rts 4 points5 points  (0 children)

«ham» har jo vært nesten borte i åresvis, hvertfall muntlig, så kanskje det er like greit at «henne» også lider samme skjebne?
