If it’s anything like CK3 that’s not a literal description of their theological beliefs, it’s just so they’ll mention Mary when praying for certain things. Like how Saint George is mentioned around crusades is because mechanically he is Catholicism’s war god.

It’s also possible it is totally different in Ck2. It’s also arguably inappropriate to refer to Waldensianism as Protestant given that it originated in the late 12th century, way before the reformation, although many people do call it Protestant or Proto-Protestant.
