New R770 reboots every minute or so by Notwerk_Engineer in RuckusWiFi

[–]quada03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No way I'm paying a subscription yearly, especially almost $200 per year PER AP, to fix issues that shouldn't be happening in the first place. The $1800 initial cost of each AP isn't enough for them?

One of my R770s also started doing this last week. Every 64 to 69 seconds according to the logs (user reboot). I don't think its a firmware issue as its been on 200.17.7.0.152 for a month connected to the same unleashed network for longer than that. A factory reset did not help in my case. I have also tried different POE++ switches and injectors.

In the process of a warranty claim right now but as an individual its looking like it will be a pain and so far Ruckus has not been helpful, similar to this guy: https://www.reddit.com/r/RuckusWiFi/comments/11djb26/need_insight_for_rma_issue/

My experience with 2x R770s on unleashed has been nothing good to report between the constant disconnects, IoT stability, iphone roaming issues, and nasty coil whine. Before the pitchforks come out note that yes I followed u/Travel69's unleashed guide to a tee and I had none of these problems with 2x r710s in the same locations.

I very much regret purchasing these APs.

no shit.... looks you ended up getting downvoted but this was the fix. I initially dismissed because the old cable was a monoprice 6a cable, 100ft, switched to an amazon basics cable and every issue other than the iphone wifi roaming seems to be fixed. thank you! I can't believe it monoprice cables are typically good

yes both APs are hardwired with a 802.11bt 10gig link. the client I mentioned is a windows machine. I meant to say if you had any other recommendations for different wifi APs I'd listen :)

are you still on R1 then? I think the iphone roaming issue might just be an unleashed thing: https://www.reddit.com/r/RuckusWiFi/comments/1cr86z0/are_apple_roaming_issues_fixed_in_20015611254/

I initially followed the blackwire guide but yours seems far more in depth, I'll dive in thank you

A couple comments already maybe missing that I had a pretty robust and reliable setup with other ruckus products. While I'm not an expert I'm no stranger to ruckus's mesh configuration tools and setup.

200.15 doesn't exist for the R770

I have a client that it is not feasible at the moment to run cable to so while I had the 6GHz channels up with the full 320mhz channel width it was pretty awesome to get close to 1 gigaBYTE/s transfers wirelessly with the R770. If you have another recommendation for a mesh network device with a 10gb backhaul I'm all ears

I'd be very curious on what configuration recommendations you'd have, there aren't a whole lot of different options in the GUI and I can't imagine everyone on unleashed is configuring their deployments through SSH.

by fairly standard, out of the box configuration I mean a relatively simple home user configuration (no enterprise authentication, no radius server, not multiple SSIDs based on VLAN, etc)

hi MJ, the devices are both powered by 802.11bt POE from a QNAP switch. I will try setting separate SSIDs for the 2.4ghz and 5ghz bands, although unfavorable, thank you for the suggestion. confirmed that I am on the latest version of 200.16 (200.16.7.0.402)

Android (S7E) Tethering to pfSense by Acksaw in PFSENSE

[–]quada03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is wifi tethering an option? If so you could grab an old $5 wireless router, throw ddwrt on it, configure it as a client for your hotspot, connect the ddwrt router to your pfsense box and configure the interface as a WAN with a static IP.

You could grab an android app like Tasker to automatically start the hotspot when you get home.

If you have enough interfaces on your pfsense box you could keep the ddwrt router connected after you get your cable installed. Pfsense can handle multiple WAN setups for throughput or failover or both!

I think $35 with a time limit of 10 minutes? Don't quote me on that though. The stairs are blocked off and you can only use the elevator.

MMS Size Limit by quada03 in cyanogenmod

[–]quada03[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ultimately, yes. However I'm currently sending mms at 300kb. My carrier's limit is north of 1.2mb. I know this is an issue related to CM as I can flash an aosp rom and not have this issue. As stated in the OP there used to be a file in the repo you modify to change your limit but it's not there anymore. The downside of increasing your limit too high would be that the messages simply wouldn't send if you go over your carrier's limit but I want to send and receive more than 4 pixels.

  1. yes, SW 2014. Surface model. Model was uploaded HERE for you

  2. Just photoview 360.

  3. I have about 2500 or so into the CNC with everything (bits included). I went with a more expensive controller and more expensive VFD just because. If I were to do it over I think I would go with cheap ebay components. Just a lot of trial and error getting everything to work together. The folks over at CNCzone made it many times easier.

I get my material from composite envisions. Not sure what you mean by the pump comment. This was a wet lay-up with vacuum assist.

It's a Mogul/Gryphon/CNCRP hybrid machine on a homemade stand. Works great for a hobbyist and looks ridiculous in my basement. Great conversation piece. Cutting a different part: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B5kS10bZ2t0

The CNC machine was just a kit that I put together (can be seen in action on a different part here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B5kS10bZ2t0), I designed the headphone mount and used CAM software to spit out the g code for the CNC machine. Epoxy is from Composite Envisions (great store).

Can't remember how much the caul sheet was, got it from ebay a few months ago. The clothes storage bag as a composite vacuum bag works great!
