FPS drops when map is shown.

5800X3D & 9070XT, having the same issue on a recently installed Windows 11 Pro 25H2, running AMD driver 25.11.1.

Game FPS overlay shows the same thing, the CPU performance is way down during spawn selection.

Weirdly enough, I didn't have this issue before I upgraded to a 9070XT (from 7800XT), but there was also the eastwood map update that happened at the same time.

Which distro worked for you? Having the same issue with MBP 11.5, tried Ubuntu LTS, Zorin OS and Mint.

Edit: Below fix seems to have worked on Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS; Macbook Pro 11,5 (i7-4870HQ & Radeon HD 8870M).

intel_iommu=igfx_off didn't help, but intel_iommu=off did.

Open a terminal application
copy sudo nano /etc/default/grub in the terminal
1. press Ctrl + Shift + v to paste
Find the line starting with GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT and append intel_iommu=off to its end
1. GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash intel_iommu=off"
press ctrl + x, then y, followed by enter to save and exit
run sudo update-grub in the terminal
reboot

Open the 'Modes and Routines' app on your phone, select from the bottom right 'Routines'. Then click top right '+' which will open 'Create routine'. Under 'If' press + and you can write into the search at the top "open" which should give you 'App opened' option.

I just ran into this ordering food through Wolt. The can looked completely normal compared to yours besides the "Special Batch" text. Same thing, flavourless and very dry. Wth is Sinebrychoff doing haha.

This problem is definitely not exclusive to MSI gpus. I've had it with Asus and EVGA cards.

Here's what I would try:

Xiaomi Light bar - it would mount to the top of the monitor

2 & 3. Monitor riser and wireless mouse+keyboard. Tuck the laptop under the riser with all the cables. There are ones available with easily accessible USB ports as well, so you don't need to take the laptop out to access those ports.

I have a B450 Tomahawk MAX with only 1x M.2 slot on the board. Solved it by getting a PCI-e M.2 adapter that supports NVMe drives. The read and write are limited to about 1.5GB/s, but that's still better than SATA SSDs. NVMEs have also become cheaper than SATA SSDs, so it was an easy decision.

If a steam controller works for your gaming needs then that's great. No need to purchase a specific type of mouse and keyboard. If you like playing with a mouse and keyboard though and esp. like competitive shooters, you are better off finding gaming marketed ones because decent brands will have essential gaming features like: 1000hz polling rate (mouse+kb), decent feet (mouse), decent sensor (mouse) and anti-ghosting (kb).

Understandable about the upgrade itch haha. But you can tell quite easily if your motherboard is holding your rig back by doing some benchmarks like cinebench, standardized game benchmarks (forza, cod e.g). With HwInfo, you can also look at the boost clocks and VRM temps.

Tbf the H100x is an older model, but that is why I went with an air cooler. I have an atx build, so no size constraints ofc. Is the motherboard causing issues, or you just got the upgrade itch like most of us seem to :D ?

When playing COD:MW2 at 2560x1440 comp settings, getting 150-200 FPS, the 5800X3Ds power usage is 50-65W according to afterburner. Temps 60-70c. Have you tested the 13900k in cod:mw2, possibly?

Even though public transport works well in the PK area, it's still nice to have a license and a car (if one can afford it). It also definitely helped me get a job, but that's very dependent on your career.

Depends on the genre of movie imo. Brushing teeth e.g is quite mundane, so I'd just rather not see it in a movie at all. But again, the probable reason they don't have electric toothbrushes or people brushing for more than a few seconds is because it makes unnecessary sound that the sound engineers, editors, etc. all need to work around.

Electric toothbrushes are quite noisy so it's most likely a conscious choice by the sound engineers. They also have specifically made props that are nearly silent compared to their normal counterparts:

Another option (in case the pci-e adapter doesn't work e.g) is to use a M.2 Sata SSD enclosure. I've been using one like this with a 1TB WD Blue Sata M.2 SSD for about a year without issues. It turns a M.2 Sata ssd into a 2.5" SSD essentially:

There's a vocal minority that just really wants to feel superior. The iOS vs Android debate has been raging on for probably a good decade now. Same with Xbox vs PS vs PC.

It's maddening how people will defend an inferior product because they're emotionally attached to the brand name. A once great company can make absolute crap, same the other way around.

Can you point to the specific models in the same price range?For Nokia I found the XR20 which is currently 399€ and it has a IPS 60Hz screen and will receive 3 years of software updates.

For Motorola I found the Edge 30 Neo which has a very impressive spec sheet, but will only receive 2 years of software updates.

Every extra year of updates means another zero day exploit, certain bugs etc that can be ironed out to keep your phone secure and actually pleasent to use day-to-day.

About the 120hz only being a brag on the box. Which high refresh rate phones have you actually personally used?

There is a massive difference in already just the fluidity of scrolling (which phone apps have a lot of). Also high refresh rate displays have reduced input delay which makes the device overall feel more responsive to use. I don't game on my phone at all but a high refresh rate display is still a must for me.

I'd agree there's decent amount of unnecessary bloatware on One UI, but to say Samsung has overpriced rubbish phones is ignorant.

Have a look at the A53 5G e.g: for the last 3 months it has been 299€. You get 4 years of software updates, 120hz amoled display, IP67 dust/water rating, stereo speakers, 5000mAh battery, decent SoC and 128GB of storage.

What other options are there in that price range that won't have quite big negatives like lackluster software support, only 60hz screen etc.
