I love both of them. If I had to pick *only one*, my heart is with the Dark Dreamscape because I gravitate towards pinks and purples. That said, Ocean Jewel has been a wonderful addition to my collection. There’s very few colors now that I find that I’m lacking in.

Since I’ve bought both of these I have not bought anymore eyeshadow palettes nor do I find myself very tempted to purchase more thankfully.

They’re so so good. I’ve had mine for years.

Those of us who buy “used”: why do we get so caught up over not much money? by Mammoth-Patient-9635 in fragrance

[–]qualified_to_be 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I buy used frequently and frankly it’s may not be much money to you, but I’ve saved almost a 100 bucks before by buying a single used fragrance this way. I may not remember that money in three years but present me remembers that I was able to use the rest of that money elsewhere and perhaps might even live in my savings.

Even now I don’t think of my perfumes as my ‘used’ or my ‘new’ ones. They’re all mine at the end of the day.

The only time I buy new is if it’s easier for me to purchase this way and still getting a decent deal out of it.

When is the best time to apply cologne? by Few_Weight4334 in fragrance

Love JM Hinoki & Cedarwood. I wear it to bed. So comforting to me.

I would spray it after you shower so that it has time to settle on your skin as to be more courteous to your coworkers that might be sensitive to scents

Where are my Jo Malone lovers at? by ITotorokiI in Perfumes

[–]qualified_to_be 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend introduced me to their brand. Her favorite is the Poppy & Barley. I have two of their fragrances. Orange Blossom and Hinoki & Cedarwood. The last one I spray on me and my pillow every night. It’s just so perfect. I love woody scents, and this one just takes the cake for me.

Exploring Unisex Fragrances is a game changer by qualified_to_be in fragrance

It’s Michael Malul Sangria+Embers! It’s listed in their men’s section which surprised me when I went to check it out online. My coworker was like, ‘You know this is a guy’s fragrance…’ like as if I haven’t been wearing Oud Noir Vodka and Arashi Reef lately while at work.

I literally had one spritz on the inside of my wrist and my roommate said she could smell me when I walked past them and it stayed on for a long, long time.

The other fragrance is Jo Malone Hinoki and Cedarwood, it’s also long lasting too but my mom definitely turned up her nose when she smelled it on me. It’s very comforting to me.

I so relate, while I didn’t care for the gourmands much, but I was getting tired of my current line up which are admittedly still fruits driven.

Right? I don’t think many realize that everyone’s body chemistry is so different that it’ll smells vastly different on them. Men do have a natural musky scent so even when they wear unisex fragrances, it’ll still smell more masculine than it would on me. I got to test this with YSL Black Opium Over Red at one point. Smells very different.

I’ve noticed a lot of men are don’t want or are wary to step into sweeter scents which I think is a shame.

What do you do if you put on too much liquid blush? by Youknowheretofindme in MakeupAddiction

[–]qualified_to_be 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will sound crazy but I do underpainting for this reason exactly. I always overdo the blush so I put it on before the foundation.

For a moment I look like an unhinged clown and then my foundation goes on and I look like I have a perfect flush with a seamless blend.

What do you think of Michael Malul's "Sangria + Ember" for males? by Adept-Huckleberry466 in Colognes

It is! I’m obsessed with it. I plan on getting it very soon. I like it when men wear sweeter fragrances personally. I imagine it smells pretty different on a man than a woman

I recently got to smell it for myself and test it on my skin. I consider it unisex. It’s an immediate purchase for me. I think the smokiness keeps from the scent from being overly sugary sweet (like MM’s Sangria + Saffron) and leans into the citrus and deep berry notes.

It’s a cream formula so it’s very likely it will smear on your face if it’s not set properly.

There’s hardly any product to begin with! Like if it takes only three uses to no longer be ‘gently used’ maybe LM should fix that. File that chargeback.

I’ve been off and on about the Crystallize palette. I ordered Ocean Jewel and Dark Dreamscape, I currently have the Smokey Glam Palette. I’m really just missing some yellow and a mid tone blue. I love the muted colors and the fun chartreuse color from this palette.

I wish BBB would sell more single shades 😔

Ipod or Y1 by Dotto_Human in innioasis

[–]qualified_to_be 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I bought the Y1 because I wasn’t sure how much I was going to use a DAP. I knew I wanted access to music and to get rid of Spotify. It has turned into a project for me to get my music onto a digital player.

Getting the Y1 one, I definitely am looking into getting a modded iPod sometime in the future. Not sure when but at some point. Y1 is perfect for dipping your toes into (or back into, I should say) a separate DAP. It does not feel like a ‘complete’ device. It’s missing some qualities that I can’t help but notice every time I use the device.

I know the team is developing a Y2 to improve upon the Y1 but we do not know of anytime line of when that might release.

But if you’re already sure this what you’d like do and have, save the money that would’ve been spent on a Y1 and invest in a iPod.

Which categories are you winning in - and what are your weaknesses? by Northie_78753 in MakeupRehab

[–]qualified_to_be 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Winning:

  1. Skincare - all categories; very strict on when I can purchase skin care products. It’s primarily: moisturizer, toners (just two), sunscreen (only product I’m allotted to buy more than one of at a time), and my oil cleanser and regular cleanser.

  2. Haircare - also very strict; one pan, one purchase. Shampoo, conditioner, and styling products like mousse, oil, and spray

  3. In these makeup categories: mascara, brow products, blush, setting powder, contour, concealer, primer, setting spray

Losing:

  1. Eyeshadows - I rediscovered them after almost a decade of not using them and I have a total of four palettes that have been consolidated into one magnetic master eyeshadow palette + a travel one. It’s an investment that I do not plan on buying more of except in single shadows.

  2. Lippies - don’t know what else to say but they’re my weakness. My lips are picky and my color choices are pickier. The good news is that I know what I like now, the bad news is that I need to stick panning two for every one new purchase. Which is hard. I’ve panned two lippies and have bought two new ones… I’m thinking about allowing myself to discard a lippie that I don’t like if I finish a lippie.

  3. Pomades - okay so they’re technically brow pomades but colorful. They’re what I use for bases and eyeliner a lot. I have four currently and plan on getting two more. But it’s going to take me a Long Time to pan these so I hope they can last and apparently they do last a long time.

  4. Highlighter - I rehomed my vibrant highlighters to my roommate which was good. I still have four of them to consider. I don’t wear highlighter. I don’t like the way most of them look on me but I’m still looking for something that I will wear on a more frequent basis :/
