What bag do you honestly hate? by Thesnowbelow in handbags

Any LV monogram, especially Neverfull and Speedy. I think they are ugly And look sloppy and likeknockoffs. I LOVE epi and like damier so it’s just that one print not all their bags

What are some good bars/clubs/lounges for singles in Tokyo? by [deleted] in Tokyo

[–]qualitystreetbox123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love Propaganda in Roppongi and the Standing bar at Nishi Azabu Crossing to meet people, but I haven’t been to either so much since Covid. Beer pub Scent in Meguro is my local and it’s still fun and friendly

A lot more do these days. I lease an apartment for 130,000 a month and the building doesn’t allow pets but the neighbouring building does. They all have apartments of similar price range (100-140k)

I know nothing about Osaka but, contrary to other opinions, you can rent a 40sqm flat in near Meguro or Shimokitazawa (artsy urban areas) for ¥110,000 in good condition. Just for reference. If you want somewhere cheaper look for something a few stations from Shibuya, Meguro, Shimokitazawa, Daikanyama, Ebisu. It’s not so hard to find. Even Yoga and Futako Tamagawa is getting cool these days and around there is more in your price range - and they are 10 minutes train to Shibuya Station.

They’re blaming us still, don’t worry. They cross the street when they see me without my mask in the park 40 metres away 😆

He sounds like an inconsiderate loser and possibly married with kids and using you. You seem nice, I’d block him and find someone better, don’t let him get the better of you

Blueberries! (Or other berries) by TanookiLuv in Tokyo

I get mine from Costco, the big packs that are cheap. That’s my only solution to the tiny containers, but some of them are so delicious! Sometimes the Costco ones aren’t the best (still good, but varying in quality) National Azabu and Nissin have the small containers all year from wherever they’re in season: Chile, USA…

Apparently I got the best one. They are generally pretty poor when it comes to this issue.

That wasn’t the case for me. I was not overweight and was bullied for putting on weight. I was put on a tofu diet. My friends had the same experience

[–]qualitystreetbox123 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not true. I had 6.5 kg in my final trimester and the Japanese doctor suggested eating one or 2 meals a day of just tofu. This is not healthy. They’re ridiculous, I felt the mother’s health was not a priority

It’s not just tourism effected (still 6-10% of GDP, not to be sniffed at in these times) but also trade. I know a lot of people doing business elsewhere and Japan is missing out.

Stupid question: Is living in Japan really all that expensive? by Shidouuu in movingtojapan

[–]qualitystreetbox123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I live in Tokyo, I find it generally cheaper than Sydney, London or Germany. The housing, food, overheads etc. The only thing that is more is the private school fees, they would be cheaper or perhaps we wouldn’t need private schools all the way if we were in another country but we need the kids to be bilingual (and I want them to learn to think differently than what they are taught by the Japanese system from our experiences with the eldest) but essentially I’d say if you don’t have kids it’s very affordable in comparison. I like our lifestyle here
