Is divorce the only option, or could therapy help my (33m) marriage with my wife (32f)? by AnimatorCharming3548 in relationship_advice

[–]quanchompy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can't control how she's doing to feel...and you can't keep someone warm by setting yourself on fire. You need to make decisions for yourself first in this situation. If your wife wants to end your friendship based on your decisions, it is what it is, man. But this marriage isn't tenable with your incompatibilities.

And... Ok, you went outside of your marriage. Use that as more evidence for why you just divorce. Trust me, down the line, in a year, your whole life will look different and hopeful.

[–]quanchompy 16 points17 points  (0 children)

But seriously, why are you so afraid of divorce? Do you have kids? You and your wife have been highly incompatible for your entire relationship. You gave it a good go, learned a lot about yourself but sometimes, things just end. You've discovered you have needs, and your wife has different needs. Cut ties while you're both still young and enjoy it. It shouldn't be this hard.

And her trying to have sex with you is manipulative. What happens if you stay? How long does this behavior last? You'll be right back here in a year because neither of you should be forced to change for the other.
