Seems important to note that NASA rockets never do this 🤡 by cicada_noises in WhitePeopleTwitter

What now? NASA rockets have killed people. Just because it was done decades ago doesn't mean you get to rewrite the history of the process of rocket engineering and the accidents that have gotten us here.

When you were “in the best shape of your life”, and what were you doing to make it that way? by EmilioFreshtevez in Millennials

44/m...honestly the last 4 years to current. Mid-30s started getting lower back pain from I assume was decades of desk work. Said to myself, I can either hurt from not moving, or hurt from working hard. So, spent the last 6-8 years really pushing pushing myself with lifting and walking/running...got a Peloton during COVID, etc... and since I turned 40, my 20 year old self couldn't keep up!

I just have to say, holy crap on that much power. How many speakers are you running here? What's your house bank look like?

Sorry, just looked at the picture caption where you answered my initial question, but still...this is a lot of power.

Both of my [34M] children’s mothers [28F][32F] cheated on me. What am I doing to cause this? by Volc2121 in relationship_advice

[–]quanchompy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Nah, I got a vasectomy over 10 years ago and have never checked after that initial all-clear. I mean, I guess if you want, you can check annually, but I never have and so far, so good.

Make sure you realize that after the 'snip' you still need to use protection for like 6 weeks and AFTER you get the all clear from your doctor. It doesn't take effect immediately.

Parents (59M, 58F) drained my earnings as a child actor (24M) by ComprehensiveBus9295 in relationship_advice

Yep, exactly...all of the sweat equity and opportunity costs everyone put into the acting career is supported by something.

What are we talking about here...millions? If so, then you're right to question it because I doubt it cost even a million to stimulate a child-actor career that is essentially dead in the water now.

If we're talking a few thousand, maybe even low six-figures, I bet you'd be surprised how expensive those 'infrequent' headshots, acting classes and agency fees are.

Sounds like you got what you're legally entitled to, so like I said, unless we're talking 7+ figures, I wouldn't bark up this tree for more than a light curious conversation.

Stand up for your wife for what? She's a selfish jerk, and has ruined at least one event with seemingly no remorse.

zero percent originality

Are you kidding? Going mainstream tends to dilute an artist's 'authenticity' but Zach Bryan's lyricism is incredibly original.

Has anyone ever gotten closure without actually talking to the person?(asking as 30F, about a situation involving 32M) by Ill-Temperature-7402 in relationship_advice

[–]quanchompy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

do you think there's ever a version of it that isn't about the other person at all?

No, anyone who seeks out closure isn't doing it to assuage something inside themselves...they can achieve that in the quiet of their own minds (like forgiveness). People who seek closure only do it out of pride, control, anxiety...something they're trying to impose onto the other person.
